Im not going to mention any names in this but a recent chat i had with an x zim player tells me a certain zim player has not been paid by ZC since last august .
This could explain why our players seem to have problems with self believe they dont get paid there for they dont feel like professionals
Lots of good things have happened to ZC recently but it seems there still got BIG problems.

Re: still problems
That''s very unsettling chappie coventry. I remember one of the guys here mentioned that a lot of the sh*t, would gradually throw itself out after the WC. That may well turn out to be the case!

Re: still problems
The date I got from another X player is that apperance fees for some have not been paid since september last year.sloandog wrote:11 months without moola is just impossible
Why do you think ZC does not allow a players association which would represent the players so that there would not be any victimisation. soem of our players have nothing else to fall back on and will be happy with being given some of the money at regular intervals with the promise that more is coming. Its a form or oppresssion, suppression, manipulation and donkey and carrot!

Probably buddy vermeulen.
Maybe ZC just prescribe to the notion "mo money, mo problems"

Re: still problems
Remember Vermulen at the Mountaineers, protested and good on the Mountaineers for standing with, but he was shown the door. So that message went to the players in the 1st X1. 1 or two guys are not popular because they speak their minds. I think they are afraid of victimisation.Jemisi wrote:But can all of our players be out of pocket for that long without murmur? 11 months is a very long time to be unpaid.

Re: still problems
As far as I know all player salaries are up to date, what was not paid seems to be the money from the 20/20 competition from November last year and that was once again run by Dominus. I don't think Eagles recieved their winnings either.
Re: still problems
its very interesting the amount of negetivity that people love to lap up. the average wage is zim is less than three hundred us dollars a month. the cricketers are a very priveleged lot, a friend of mine whos name I will not mention earns just over a 100, 000 grand a year, thats very big money for a poor country like zim. people are always talking about problems, zim is a troubled country that is trying to sort itself out, money is a problem there, regardless of whether you are white or black. i find it strange that the only perfect institution that is meant to be functioning is cricket. give the guys a break they are trying to make the sport work, it beats just sitting around and passing judgement from the comfort of our lounges. When the teams of yester year used to lose was it about confidence and money. to win matches you need to be drawing cricket players from a large pool they must then compete. some of the guys we have are just not good enough,,, our time as a country is not now, we just need to trudge along and try and get more players playing and playing at a decent standard. soon we will begin to do well.
Zc does not have money its never had money,, to make money you need to sale Tv rights,,, honestly who would pay good money to watch zim play bang or pak, every other cricket board is crying about money, NZ has said they will pay some of their player amounts next year because they can not make ends meet. Sri is on cric info they are broke, so is west indies and Pak. Lets stop lieing to ourselves it costs money to play cricket and it aint that easy to raise the big sums required... zim is not India.. the ICC says all matches must be televised. it does not mean every match thats on tv makes money,, it just has to be on TV
What you guys should be saying is how can we make cricket make money ,,, and the answer is include a greater part of your population so that cricket becomes a commodity.
whats this got to do with people building houses or buying cars, give the guys a break,,, i am sure they have a life outside of cricket
