I saw Ryan Burl running down the track at Noor.
That will work 1 out of 10 times against these world class spinners in these shorter formats.
If you're going to want to do that you can't predetermine. You have to wait until he's delivering and pick the one that's a tiny bit fuller. They bowl it faster and slightly shorter in the T20 and T10's, you can't just run down and hope for the best, especially if it's turning, which it was and I defy anyone to know which way, he's an unbelievable bowler.
You only make runs against him if he gets it wrong, or u stay put, or go back and hit across the line, with a sweep or slog sweep or you clear to leg. It's staying low and skidding on so you're better off front footing it.
Samit Patel and Hafeez are the same, if they're hitting their lengths it's not easy.

The high risk is the reverse (got Raza out) or the pick up paddle down to fine leg. The best batters on the planet scratch their heads so Burl is in good company.

It’s very odd that we are back to teams needing 4 local players in the XI again. We had just 1 random day where they decided only 3 were needed? What was all that about?

Kaia gets a rare chance today.

I’m pretty sure I want to see Kaia and Gumbie given an extended chance together as a pair in Tests and ODIs.

Gumbie obviously isn’t suitable at all for T20s and I’m not sure Kaia is but maybe he should get a chance at least.

Other than that who do we go with for T20 openers? Based on this week Marumani probably should get another chance. Maybe pair him with Burl? Although Burl is pretty much the only guy capable of doing the finisher role down the order so maybe leave him there?

The Africa qualifiers should be largely ‘easy’ opposition so I’d be up for an experiment.

Raza said he was sticking with the 4 despite the new rules, either they’ve scrapped it or everyone else has followed suit.

Kaia making me eat my words instantly and suggesting he’s a T20 option too.

Quality player. Actually quite scandalous that he didn’t get more of a run in the qualifiers

Looks like some of our players have played well so far. Glad with all the international talent they are not just making up numbers. Burl has been a bit disappointing for mine

More runs for Marumani, his game is made for modern white ball cricket far more than Wes or Shumba. Just need to flick the switch at international level.

This is where I'm hoping Welch comes in. I think Maru, Welch and Wes should be the T20 top 3 if Welch really is back. Burl needs to stay down the order
