I'm following this Bongi/Curry thing with interest.
England have until 10am to lodge an official complaint.
Only then will SA say what they will do, clearly some pressure on Curry to say he had mud in his ear and may have misheard it. The poor part is SA waiting for a ruling before they decide what censure is appropriate. Rules for me and rules for thee.
NZ will be following this closely. Bongi is a key player.
Theyre currently calling it a slur. They left the racial part out.
At most it's going to be a wrist slap, but I suspect it will just go away.
Yet something similar ended Ballance. A neck snap not a wrist slap.
I'm not invested in it, despite having lived with it for 40 odd years  the only thing that's annoying is the double standard. Needs to stop.

It will 100% go away, already hearing that the SA team are saying that he spoke in Afrikaans and the English player misheard an Afrikaans: 'wit kant' – which translates to 'the white side. Easy dismissal on that grounds

Yup, because a black guy speaking Afrikaans to an English guy is believable and plausible isn’t it

The A** H**** at ICC are planning to review the future of ODI format. 2027 WC may not happen at all if these clowns decide to scrap the format.

Franchise leagues will take over completely.

It's all part of the masterplan. It's exactly what the BCCI want. It will happen and there's little any of us can do to stop it.

Is there an article? I know some have suggested ODIs only be played the year before the world cups. Unfortunately that's the way its going to go. Lots of T20s

In fact any parent with a prodigy will be training their kid to smack balls out the park than trying to build an innings.

That was an MCC suggestion and they carry very little weight with ICC. ICC's latest statement has been that they support ODIs as its their big cash cow.

But all it will take is a majority of their board to view ODIs as a liability to ensure that ODIs are only played every 4 years at the world cup.

Afghanistan are a proper unit. Way ahead of us. This is why the ICC also looks the other way on some issues

Nope. It’s the ICC, not the MCC.

I think ODI cricket is in severe trouble. There is one format too many and ODIs are the odd one out. I loved the ODI-age of the 1990s and 2000s but I guess the world has moved on? I wouldn't be surprised to see the format killed off altogether. It makes zero sense to only play the format every four years.
