Kindly give concrete evidences that current team of Taylor, Price, Ervine, Taibu, Utseya, Coventry, Chigumbura is equal to current Kenyan team. And if you are not able to give the reasons, shut this thread off.

The thread isn't offensive - it won't be locked simply because you don't like or agree with the point it's trying to make. If you don't feel it's useful, then either don't add to it (it would be a lot shorter, and a lot nearer the bottom of the page, if it weren't for all the "you're talking rubbish" posts), or make it useful by giving your own supported reasons as to why jamthala's wrong.

(Now, if this thread were to die a natural death and a similar thread were to be posted, that may very well end up locked, in the same way that Matsi-bashing earned thread-locking a while back. But this one will be allowed to run its natural course.)

Alex Obanda the same as Taylor?! While Obanda has been scoring his runs against Afghanistan, Namibia, Burkina Faso, etc, Brendan Taylor has been playing the world's best cricket teams. After the 2003 World Cup you could have made the claim that Kenya were as good as Zimbabwe, but Kenya have done nothing since. Their performance in 2003 was the peak of a great generation of Kenyan cricketers. The fact that Steve Tikolo at age 40 is still their best player shows how far they have fallen.
Neil Johnson, Alistair Campbell, Murray Goodwin, Andy Flower (w), Grant Flower, Dave Houghton, Guy Whittall, Heath Streak (c), Andy Blignaut, Ray Price, Eddo Brandes

The simple answer to this question is that zim beat kenya 9-1 over 2 series last year, and Zim have improved considerably since then. Case closed...

6 years ago you would have a point.

Today you are plainly crackers. Zim are head and shoulders above any associate. Kenya have, sadly, gone backwards. That is more a statement on their internal corruption and lack of opportunity.

in 2003 Kenya had a very good side, and infact they beat us didn't they if my memory is correct...
Guys like Tikolo, Odumbae, Collins Obuya, David Oboya, Kennedy Otieno, Ravi shah etc were all very good international batters, and like Eugene said, they were peaking.
But today, a lot of those guys have either retired, or have lost their way in the cricket world, and 8 years is a very ling time to be classed as a poor team. Unless they unearth a few genuine stars like Zimbabwe are beginning to do, they're not going to progress. Tikolo will not play another world cup, David Obuya is no longer a dangerous player and Collins Obuya no longer knows how to bowl. Good luck to them, but they're in serious decline Jamthala. :)

Kenya's pretty rubbish these days, don't see how they're as good as Zimbabwe, who's looking stronger than any side since 2003.
