Taylor will need a lot of game time to prove himself after so long out. If he is good enough he should be selected, although it is a sorry state of affairs that he is probably still one of our best. Misbah ul Haq retired just shy of his 43rd birthday so I guess anything is possible.

Nah he’ll be like Williams. Turn up from ball one and start middling it like he’s never been away

It’s time to get BT mania rolling now he’s in the last year of his ban.

I’m picking a 39 year old BT over anyone in that squad. The man is our greatest white ball player ever, no arguments. Let the king be king again, I’m onboard.
The Zimbabwe Cricket team have found Ebola in one of their members, but they're not concerned because they have also found Ebatsmen and Efielda!

Mayavo is a frustrating cricketer. Clearly a good keeper with some talent with bat but he doesn't take his chances does he

20 years, millions invested, and here we are needing an overweight 39 year old guy who was banned for drugs and corruption and who hasn't touched a cricket ball for 4 years to rescue us because we have failed to produce a single competent batsman in literally two decades of trying.

If ever you needed proof that ZC is the most failed organisation on the planet, there you go.
Pretty much sums it up. I have a lot of respect for Brendan but surely Zimbabwe are not going back to him.

Yep, and Taylor will walk back into the Logan Cup and score hundreds for fun. I don’t think there’s any problem there.

Assuming he is fit, he deserves another chance at international level.

At this point, I feel that if ZC lobby for a 6 month reduction in his ban they would grant it, and he will be available by the time next Logan cup season starts.
I have no issue in seeing him return with a view to the next WC if he is good enough, there is nothing below the big 3 (back to 4 if he returns) so its a band aid worth slapping.

It actually kind of increases our chances of a decent World Cup with a home crowd going crazy. The emotions behind the guys who carried us for so long saying goodbye like that. That buys ZC more time too. A terrible World Cup performance by the new guys and people will start asking questions. A decent performance in 2027 and then slam the rebuilding tag on all these guys buys you time. That’s what I would do if I was them.

A lot of the younger guys need time. A lot of it. 2027 is not that far away. They might not be ready by then. I also think it’s not competitive enough for them. They are always walking back into the team a few months after a disasterclass. Some of them are really close friends. They need some competition to motivate them.

The key to all this though is to increase the fixtures in all 3 formats. You can tell the kids that T20s are for you but you have to earn your place in the other formats.

BT coming back would be a dream. Anyone know if he's interested at all in making a comeback?

Ya, the sooner he’s back the better, as it is, he just misses out on that England test. He will be good enough, it’s BT were talking about
