I wouldn' read too much into these statements. If they had not "expressed a keen interest in playing for Ireland" they would not have been picked for these provincial matches, the highest standard of cricket they can aspire to this northern summer.

I still think if Zimbabwe got their shit together and made it attractive to play for them then maybe the 4 players may change their mind ......

Not at all.

I think you misunderstood me. What I meant was: If they want to play in these matches, because it's the most competitive cricket they can get right now (in addition to club cricket), they have to say whatever is necessary (keen interest bla bla ... 4 years is a long way down the line for Craig). If ZC come along with an attractive central contract and an impressive fixture list in the southern summer, Craig will say whatever is necessary then.

Honestly, no-one knows what goes on inside his or their brains, but that's my reading for now. Question is, are Ireland buying this?
