I spoke to young Dip recently about his cricket. Gargamel to suggest that he is sulking about not playing for Eagles is complete trash. He is a very nice young man who isnt sulking with the current situation but just cant be bothered to be honest with repeatedly trying to make a team who's bowlers are not as good as him and he has proved that time and time again in club and practice games. He doesnt seem too phased as I think he knows Timoni just isnt interested. To link him with any racial rubbish is shameful on your part. I always see him with Tanya Munyaradzi at Eagles. He has had a very good season with both bat and ball this year as he takes 3 wickets almost every game and his economy is probably the best of any fast bowler in 1st league ! The way he doesnt allow batsmen any room is real good. He has averaged close on 30 too this season with the bat. My critique with him is however, he is very lazy. If this kid trained in the gym and practiced more, I have no doubt he would play for Zim easily. I follow my beloved OH well.

To suggest Timoni is any sort of good coach or even a coach for that matter is ludicrous. He knows absolutely nithing about anything. He was a bus driver prior to being Eagles coach.
The Eagles won the comp because they have the best pool of players. Not by any means the coachs' doing.

I wont comment further on things i have seen and heared about Dipaz. Dipaz is a great lad and i find him very sociable and entertaining every time i see him at a club or franchise game.I feel for his dad more than Dipaz coz you can see that he has put loads into his sons career with heartbreak after heartbreak starting with an Under 19 snub when he clearly in my opinion he should have gone and then two seasons of false promises with the +Eagles until this season.

As for his charater I would like to ask you re read my comment and withdraw your suggestion that he is racist. I will admit that he could and would play more if he were to move to the Rhinos or Tuskers who are coached by white men but men who reward hard work, potential and talent and not seniority and Mash black cricket nation politics which i feel have stalled his career. He is affectionately loved by his team mates coz of his simple and straight forward approach to life he in my opinion would be and is considered a wigga among his team mates

As for his club performances i will be frank an honest. The boy should leave the dysfunctional OH its hurting his career, i rate him in the top 5 all rounders in Zimbabwe but being 15th in and 23rd in terms of economy and average with the ball do not reflect his talent as he has had to bowl in loosing causes with no real support from the erratic Munyoro and the rest of the teammates with the ball. As for his batting i feel the lack of a strong line up has affected his cricket as he has come in to early where he has had to rebuild an innings. I feel that he is a solid finisher who needs a solid platform to pour on the runs or manage a chase with his big hitting.

As for your perception of coach Timoni I totally disagree. He gave Dipaz his debut so lets be grateful under any other coach he may have never played . Timoni handed out debuts this year and resuscitated careers of players that he felt had been marginalized by the Takaz monopoly. To manage over 50 players and egos takes a lot of skill and effort and thats one thing a lot of coaches cannot claim to be able to do. One aspect that people overlook in coaching is building bonds even if you have massive talent Timoni built a team where everyone had each others back and the team would party together ,support each other and I felt the pressure when at Rainbow we dropped a player who we thought was not stepping up but his eagles team mates blew up my phone with Apps Calls , Messages that the said player needed to play it shows to me unity over individual goals.

His dad is a great guy. Respected by many of us guys around and watching. Maybe I overeacted a bit but the kid is really good, also James Bruce is really good and I hear Whatmore wants gim in the national setup.

As for Timoni, mate I see and hear the man. He has little to no brains whatsoever. As for his man management skills, they arr nothing short of a joke. And i have many references from Eagles players on that. The reason Diplock played the 1st couple of games is because there was no ignoring what he did to all batsmen at the practice matches. It would have been a crime if he hadnt got a chance. As for Aliseni, he got a chance because of Garwe and Muzarabani picking and choosing when they feel like playing for Eagles. Same with Nigel Mupurura, Muzarawetu got injured and the two "kingpins" probably wernt upto playing as they are on contracts. Diplock's best suit is probably t20 as he is especially hard to get away, he mentioned to me that he especially asked Timoni to play him in the T20 comp and if even 1 game. He said it was a good idea and they would talk about it. He says he never heard a word from him since that day. And look how awful the Eagles pacers were at that tournament.

Gerald Aliseni tells me he would like to play for Eagles but just also gets overlooked 80% of the time despite being sheer quality ! Hope the guy keeps training cuz he is so good !

Brighton Zhawi works extremely hard and is pretty hard to face with a new ball but tends to let pressure get the better of him when he gets a chance. Nice guy though. Deserves more chances.

Timoni must be credited for some of the success of his Eagles side. His coaching skills may be questionable but i think as a man manager and team organizer he is probably one of the best i have seen in a while. He realsied that a number of his players would be on tour and so he went for depth by having what was considered a joke at the time a squad of 50 players in preseason trimmed to 35. He also built a team bond and unity amoungst the squad where every one would drink and party together go to church together where possible and would have optional added sessions for players who were interested . He did not impose restrictions on going out and players managed themselves off the field. He also backed the young guys which we saw by pushing Burl, Maunuze, Chikomba who played a number of games and were very successful . He also showed faith in players that the system had rejected we saw the return of Aliseni who stole the game in Bulawayo for the Eagles, The return of Chirimuuta who has no average in the 50 over competition with 3 fifties. He also got rid of some players he felt found favor under old administrations or just were not good enough to play FC cricket like Sharrara, Kondo, Manyumwa,Rizhibowa . He also instilled discipline in the boys by setting individual fitness targets where he challenged Chirrimuuta to loose 5 kilos before preseason, He challenged Aliseni to bowl 15 over straight and was rewarded with two FC games where i seriously thought he should have played List A games considering his fitness levels.

You can't argue with that Flakeman, although, I would have loved Diplock to have been involved in the above description somewhere as well

I'm sorry to hear that Clem R is not in the squad. Where is he playing now? 50 guys going to church together and then getting drunk afterwards sounds like fun.

Then you are obligated to drink half a dozen Timoni and Pumba Eagle brand home brews served up by Pastor Chawas or you don't get picked. Please tell me I'm wrong!!
