The only way an A side is going to get affordable reguLr cricket is to be included in some form of cricket in SA.
You have a point about warming up players for the upcoming tour.

Even if they slotted us in somewhere for a season, would ZC have the resources to ensure we honored our commitment?
Re: [Discussion]: Your Zim A side for Sou A & NZ, team build
Not to mention the last time we played domestically in SA we get lumped with that awful Chevrons name. Still can't shake it all these years later.

it is high time the senior players prove their worth or ship out and the major concern is lack of consistency in these senior players...some players feel they have a guaranteed place in the team and therefore perform dismally.I have seen hami, vusi and chigumbura for some time now and I am worried sick each time they are playin. Is it because they are not confident of themselves??It would be great to see the u19 play for zim A inorder for them and also to use some senior players such as waller who are experienced

I still think we should play in the SA domestic circuit in every format...It would be the best thing for the players, would be super to watch on tv and we would be competetive. We wouldnt come at the bottom of the log for sure now that half their sides are packed with absolutely useless quota players. e.g Mangaliso Mosehle, Grant Mokoena, literally all the quota players in SA are useless bar the Lions group.
I think it would be super. But our board are too dumb to think of things like that.

Mosehle has joined the Lions, and Mokoena previously played for the Lions.Flakeman wrote:I still think we should play in the SA domestic circuit in every format...It would be the best thing for the players, would be super to watch on tv and we would be competetive. This. Every time to see someone use it, internal rage rises. Bloody awful name, from a time when we were too weak to play as a proper national side and got lumped into someone else's domestic tourney. Absolutely nothing to be proud of or to continue using.eugene wrote:Not to mention the last time we played domestically in SA we get lumped with that awful Chevrons name. We honestly cant afford to have pride. We lose to Afghanistan. The SA competitions are widely covered on TV all the time, they play good cricket, could open more sponsorship doors and we would be playing FAR more cricket at a high standard.

Zimbabwe just needs to play more often. I agree that Zimbabwe (a representative Zim team) should play in South Africa's domestic competition, be it the Zim national side (unlikely), A side or U/23 or Academy side. Time to put the pride aside & pull up the socks to be more competitive. Players will get a practice on those hard bouncy pitches of South Africa which will help them in international cricket.

No way that SA would allow a Zim side into their franchise structure. The provincial structure below maybe. There was often a Zim side in the pre-runners of these competitions in the 90s, and there remains a Namibian side there now.Flakeman wrote:We honestly cant afford to have pride.
