Wow Doc thats a bit harsh about Greg Lamb as he helped steady the ship in difficult conditions and he looked a more than usefull 6th bowling option.
Conant wrote: I agree whole heartedly with Dr Situ. Lamb may be a useful bowling option but how many of them do we need when we already have Cremer, Price and Utseya. In that 39 ball innings Lamb never looked remotely like a one day player let alone a T20international.
I find Lamb over-hyped but thats an absolute personal comment. We must win first two ODI's first before giving him cap. Even Stuey Matsi can bowl useful part timers so no need to unstabilise the batting order.

@ Conant- Light is always white. Give benefit of doubt to Gus, he might be referring to our "rising ray of hope"-Cremer ;)

I agree about Vusi cos I thing if he came after the ball has been bashed a bit he can build an innings and attack very well. i also dont think he is an opener.

I think this series is cruial for Matsikenyeri and Sibanda as they need to perform consistantly and im still not convinced that Sibanda is an opening batsman. He plays the whole domestic season batting at four, scores heaps of runs and what do we do when he gets back in the national side, put him up to open.
Give him more time! Opening in international cricket is one of the hardest tasks in the world of cricket! ;) :W: :ugeek:

If Vusi is not an opener , then he does not have a spot in the side . Pick an opener like Vermulen instead or other guys that proove they are true openers .

Would you say that Lamb is a better batting option than Coventry and Matsikenyeri?

I would go for Coventry who can play a big innings . One or two wickets from Lamb who was supposed to contribute more with the bat is not useful. Lamb has to prove us wrong here . But I would give the Chopper a start today .

Not at all. Coventry is a true match winner though most of you wont agree with me.Matsi is a useful tit-bit player. I have never seen Lamb playing so its too early to pass a judgement but still his domestic performance doesnt excite me much. I would love to be proved wrong but he is not at all a match for chppie but can replace Matsi.

I have been fascinated by our "Zimbabwean Vetorri" since his exploits against India. Eagerly awaiting for grant flower who can really shape his career.

I think Matsi had a good knock against SA , so i would love to have him play in the 1st game. If he does not perform then give him another chance in the seccond . If he fails then drop him .There is one problem with Matsikenyeri though .... he looses his wicket easily , often going for that silly short .

Pitch Conditions

Post by Flower power »

Pitch and conditions
A contributing factor to the dry, crumbling pitch used in the Twenty20 in Trinidad is the drought which has gripped the entire Caribbean region since October - usually the wettest month - and Guyana has certainly not escaped its effects. Expect hot, dry conditions and another cracked, spin-friendly surface.

Shall these work in our favour . Price , Cremer , Utseya . Will this be their field day or the windies batting lie u will be better prepared .
