Re: Will you continue to follow Zimbabwean cricket?
Given that we sent out a really potent XI in last so many years against Pakistan and we lost the way we did, that was one of the most miserable days in the many years of supporting Zim. Made me think a lot. The news of people leaving is nothing big anymore - for me, if this was the case I would have stopped following after Streak left.
So, will soldier on, Hammy is still there! Let us see how things go...
As for the Test XI assuming all those going are indeed going:
Sikandar Raza
Kevin Kasuza
Hamilton Masakadza (c)
Vusi Sibanda
Regis Chakabva (wk)
Malcolm Waller / Richard Mutumbami
Greg Lamb
Elton Chigumbura / Shingi Masakadza
Brian Vitori
Tendai Chatara
Tinashe Panyangara
Still does not look as bad as those dark years of 2006 - 2007. There is still hope...

Thats a park cricket team.
Now my question is this;
If you dont need to have a euro passport to be a kolpak player- whats to stop
Someone like Chatara signing with county?

I am crying and staying.
Zimbabwe has more trouble ahead but the evil men in power will pass. At HSC and across the road as well.

There's nothing stopping him but very rarely (if any) do you see black africans being snapped up by county sides as a Kolpak, plus Tendai is still young and developing.ZIMDOGGY wrote:Now my question is this;

Also, Brendan Taylor is Zimbabwe's most well known player, he's also got the stats to back him up.
But to answer the OP, yes of course!

We do have some decent players coming through......
Mutombodzi(623 runs @ 44.50)
Luke Jongwe(362 runs @ 30.16, 31 wickets @ 15.96)
Carl Mumba(18 wickets @ 16.27)
W.Masakadza(21 wickets @ 20.47)
Mutizwa and Dabengwa are back in form.....
then there's Burl, Mamhiyo, Mufudza, Muzarawetu, Chimhamhiwa, Chikomba.........

Re: Will you continue to follow Zimbabwean cricket?
I have seen the era when Zimbabwe used to play after 4 years only in WCs and losing mostly all of the matches. From Butchart, Shah, Pycroft, Haughton, Traicos, Brandes to Flowers, Campbell, Whittall and then Johnson, Goodwin to Taibu, Blignaut, pRICE, Taylor, Coventry, Hamilton, Williams...Its been history unfolding. So I don't see why I would stop now.
The only good thing in case of Taylor's farewell is that he is getting due respect. My heart still bleeds for my superhero Price who didnt even get a farewell match.
May be we may revisit history as in case of the school friends Hick and Brandes. I won't be surprised to see Vitori ripping timber of BT at Lords.
