Logan cup round January 2024

Shumba is lol.
Re: Logan cup round January 2024
He scored two fifties against Pakistan "A" last year which were probably more impressive innings. Comes across as a much tougher cricketer than Wes and Marumani who have an element of flakiness about them. The big question will be whether he fancies giving international cricket a crack or not, from a wealthy family, a bright lad too who has options.TapsC2 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 04, 2024 3:28 pmDoes he play any serious cricket in the UK? If he doesn’t then that has to be impressive. He could score his second century in 10 FC games without any real continuity or full time training. That’s good considering that none of the other kids in his age group have scored more than 2 and they are professionals with at least 3 times as many games. Let’s hope he gets there.

Madande is the real deal and N.Welch will be. If he chooses to get serious about his cricket then Myers is someone to definitely get excited about for sure along with M.Welch , Bennett, Campbell and Maposa

Unless there are radical changes in the system then there is a high chance that these guys go the same way as those that preceded them.
Don't get your hopes up for them. The odds are you'll be disappointed.
We need the significant system changes talked about elsewhere, or else they won't be given the right experiences and environments to allow them to step-up to the next level, no matter how big their natural talent.

I hate when someone talks about pushing madande higher up the order. Why fix something when it ain't broke, eh?
Re: Logan cup round January 2024
Another thread that’s been totally derailed, ends with discussion on how the system needs changing and a bit of antum thrown in somewhere for good measure
all that’s missing is mention of some very questionable umpiring for a full house on this edition of ZCF bingo.

Re: Logan cup round January 2024
That's my cue. Lord Mhishi and his merry band need to address the diabolical umpiring in this country as a matter of urgency. There's about 3 decent guys and the others are diabolical. Being useless is one thing, but deliberately altering the outcome of games and messing with people's careers is an entirely different kettle of fish. Those guys need to go.
If the captains stuck their necks out and reported these guys every time there was a shit call it would help.
Any livestreamed games where there's evidence of a blatantly bad call should be followed up and the culprit should have to answer. Not answer, just be removed.
Makes my blood boil.
