Kriterion once pointed out a few years ago we will always lose on a flat wicket because the other teams will out-bat us. He is being proven right again.
Generally yes, but ZIM did get two draws (without any rain help) vs WI and SL in recent times on flat wickets. Much to my surprise. But this is a much weaker ZIM batting lineup here and a much stronger opposition bowling attack.
I’ve said it many times before, the shorter the contest the more even the contest is and the more likely it is for Zimbabwe to compete.
We’d be better off preparing a seamer friendly wicket and trying beat the Windies in a game with an overall run total of 800 runs.
Should be able to draw this at least, but is this really the way Zimbabwe want to playing Test cricket? Shorter more exciting games will be better for the fans, players and of course the bottom dollar.
It will still be a surprise if we can draw from here. WI are in total control apart from their run rate. They can easily go to 500 and then have time to roll us. One of our guys has to really step up in the first innings to ensure we get past the follow on.

Looks like Day 5 will be rain effected, but yes you’re right, we could easily lose within 3 days
Oh, well more rain would help. Harder to lose a three day game than a four day game. But our tail is so long and the rest brittle. Probably good the Windies batted first. Still smarting that Raza is playing rubbish OTHER T20 crap.
