:D :D :D
The wheels fell off years ago. Any action taken now is a reaction years late. I only come here after such disasters to remind everyone that this was long coming, i wish to tell you this is the deep end but unfortunately we are not halfway down yet.
1: Calling on Dave’s removal, who comes in ? Utseya :D
2: I called it out here that Chatara, Welly, Jongwe, Kaia should be nowhere near a zim jersey, i was told you otherwise here.
3: Problem is if you retire Ervine, Williams, Raza… who comes in ?
We are losing to Namibia and Uganda whilst they are there. Those 3 alone have held zim cricket for the past decade.
4: We don’t have a viable domestic setup, giving 1000 games to Mutombodzi, Shumba and Kaia thinking they will be world class, sad part is we still have them playing game in game out on the domestic scene +15 years later.
5: We will have a pretty strong reaction from ZC, none of it will remedy the situation it will only make us worse.
6: The only solution available is to solve the issue the way it was created!!! You took money from players, now throw money at those players outside domestic scene. Not 1 player but 6-7 and bring them all in your Byrom, Cartwrights, etc.
7: Remove quotas !!! Only Muza, Ngarava and some to a lesser extend like Madhevere are worthy to play.
8: Sad part is even with this the Byroms are not better than Ervine, Williams but at least we are starting to build something for the next world cup in 2027.
9: Bring back Zim A games with proper selection!!! This notion of Zim emerging or under 25 and the squad is Shumba, Kaia, Mayavo, Gumbie is throwing money in a trash bin 😂
I will stop here for now till ZC make it worse and keep digging deeper. Unfortunately Houghton is gone so is the older generation of players. The scary part is Chatara, Welly, Shumba, Mutombodzi aren’t and brace yourselves for an Elton and Prosper promotion

Just looking at the scorecard, the spinners bowled 2 overs each, Burl bowled one (for 10) and the seamers bowled 4 each. Blessing and Richie should surely have bowled the 19th and 20th?
Seems like Raza was ringing the changes. Welly bowled economically but only got 2 overs?

I'm at a loss as to how we lost this? At a complete loss.
They are going to fire everyone whose surname doesn't begin with M.
Bowling Muzarabani’s last over in the 16th was actually really smart at that moment. It was a roll of the dice to dry up the runs and it actually worked - it was a beautiful over and it tipped all the pressure on Uganda and it looked uphill for them.

…..But then Larry came on bowled six balls of filth straight after.

Few months ago Zimbabwe defeated Holland in WC opening qualifiers game.

Few moths have elapsed, but it seems light years.
This squad is entirely underperforming. It's too simplistic quoting Larry or Dave. Only Blessing stands out. An IPL player such as Sikandar is relentlessly chastised by Ugandan batsmen

So often the question has been how if when Sikandar, Williams, Ervine would retire.... I think we are there: I hardly envisage them to feel motivated to continue their career for national team.

I stated, more than once, that Zimbabwe must allocate part of its funding from ICC to have at least 100 domestic professional players, people who can sensibly dedicate full time to cricket by knowing they have an income. Nobody feels to become rich: an income is sufficient (for many).

Few pennies left to pay minimum salaries? Grassroots is then the only answer: Zimbabwe badly needs thousands and thousands of kids playing tapeball cricket in every town.
Tapeball cricket is basically budgetless: just a cheap bat, no ground infrastructure, no other kit required.

Thousands and thousands of immigrants from subcontinent are playing tapeball cricket in Italy. Can't it be made by Zimbabweans?
When you finally have a broad grassroot base, you may hope to have some stars in real cricket in the future.

Just seen a joke scoreline about the Zim v Uganda game, can you imagine getting beaten by teams like them

I'll have another look later when the game actually starts

Wellington at 6 is the most shocking thing I have seen in ZC history. There was so much on the line. Whoever came up with that idea needs to go

Ok I accept that. Didn't watch as I said.
That Namibia game Id have bowled Blessing and Richie for 8 overs straight up front, they were doing that well. Nothing to lose.

Agree , he stuffed up big time giving larry another over after ged already bowled 3 overs of pies
No game awareness at all. Do they actually keep an eye on the economy rate of bowlers in each game or just go with a pre determined plan and stick to it no matter how they are bowling.

Shattered, embarrassed, and ashamed. Never felt this hopeless about Zim Cricket before. Don't know if Dave going is the answer, but he definitely has some explaining to do, particularly around the choice of holding Wes out till EIGHT...

The Zim Cricket Facebook page went ballistic and has just been disabled :D :D :D :D

Ohh ..is this lost against Uganda....shut the door for Zimbabwe team to Qualify for T20 cricket world cup ???
I ask this not in a "my Christ you are a complete bellend and have goaded me" way but more out of genuine curiosity.

Why would you come here and post that?

I am bewildered that your first thought would be to come here and message to gloat. What was the thinking behind it? I am actually interested in what would make you behave in such a way.

That change room is not going to be a good place to be right now.
Something big about to go down.
