OHs woes continued this past weekend as the played OMs. Mark Vermuelen has apparently been banned again or it was "never lifted"? David Brent featured for OMs and apparently is playing 2nd XI county cricket im told in Eng.

After a bad wet mark on the pitch was ever present,OH lost the toss and were put into bat for a 40 overs game as the pitch was tended to. They lost Yaseer Parker early on for 6 caught behind. Cephas Zhuwao and Brandon Diplock then came in and steadied the ship with Zhuwao blasting 32 and then being caught on the boundary. Diplock played the anchor role as wickets fell around him. Credit must go to OMs left arm spinner Ed for some tight bowling. Diplock departed for 51 and OH were all out for 124.

OH started off well by Diplock removing David Brent in the 3rd or 5th over. Talent Munyoro didnt bowl as he had thought lunch was a bit too long and returned in the 10th over. Cephas Zhuwao bowled decently to get 3 wickets but took some tap. OMs scraped through though to win by 4 wickets. OH really needs to wake up.

Rainbow continued to push hard for their first Vigne Cup with a 7 wicket victory over a young Uprising side at Old Georgians.

Rainbow won the toss and elected to field which was justified with 3 quick wickets that set the tone for a quick win with Zhawi taking an impressive 2 for 9 in his six overs with the aid of Tino Mafusire getting a wicket upfront as he regains some late season form after a poor start to the season. Then entered the much famed Rainbow Left Arm off spin attack that saw Kuda Munyede grab a weekend best of 6 for 27 in his 8 overs has he accounted for and wrapped up the Uprisng tail. The Top scorers for Uprising were Chikomba and Dillon Hondo with 17 and 14 respectively as Uprising amassed 103 in 30

The rainbow run chase was set back early with the loss of two early wickets as the Rainbow Blitz lost two early wickets to Herbert Chikomba who reduced Rainbow to 11 for 2 at the Lunch with the loss of Mwenda and Njanji for 5 and Zero at the lunch break. The set back was halted by a 83 wicket stand between Bryt Mugochi and Garry Chirimuuta as they counter attacked with scores of 41(27) and *51(33) to lead rain bow to victory within 16 overs.

Memorable momments. 3 sixes in a row by Gary Chirimuuta.

Great stuff as ever gargamel.

So many left arm spinners around (although none in the A-team)

Who is the best/most-promising out of Masakadza, Chisoro, Munyede, Mugochi, Chikomba, Magarira?

In my opinion there are three but i am being biased as the club that i am with Rainbow is home to 4 of the countries best but all bring different aspects to the game

1. Mike Muguda - Excellent Variation , Big turner of the ball, Greatest captaining mind in the country, Cons - Needs to be a serious batsman ,Fitness issues a

1. Brighton Mugochi- Excellent Variation , Excellent in circle fielder , Handy aggressive batsman , Cons occasional loose ball, Durability in longer versions due to a dodgy knee, at times considered lazy
1. K Munyede- Pro's Economical, Accurate , highly athletic in the field and disciplned - Cons - Dosnt turn the ball as much but is effective, Action considered not durable for long format and needs to bat

Chisoro i rate as a late bloomer after what i thought was the end to his career at the Rocks and a horrid time in Australia as a left arm seamer he has remodeled himself as a spinner. Chisoros variation is what sets him apart from Welly and the rest near the national team. His quicker short bouncer is probably one of the best balls around at the momment. Chisoro also adds length to the batting line up and is one of the cleanest hitters of the ball who i rank in the top three ahead of as he trails Elton and Tino Mafusire and Cepahs Zhuwawo
