The reality is that people joke Babar Azam and Virat Kohli would stat pad against us, Eish now the Ugandan boys do the same.
Naqvi should run away fast. All these Eddy Byroms, Dane Shades etc. could offer them all the money in the world but are they really going to want to play for Loserville CC?! Sure money talks but these guys will have some self respect. The money is the only draw, not like we play World Cup cricket or anything.
We’re in a unique situation of being a full member for historic reasons but really an associate level team.
What's clear is that nobody appears to have any answers to our woeful performances.
On the one hand you have a team that you can theoretically make because players are not performing and now it seems its so far gone that people are wondering if they really want to. Is it just the couch critics thinking that or does it extend to players?
Guys like Schardendorf, Byrom etc who come here in the off season haven't done that well, that tells me there's some decent domestic cricket being played, or does it mean they're not themselves better players.
I see Naqvi has also had a couple of low scores recently, maybe he's contracting the disease?
He's not getting an international gig anywhere else, this is his only option if he wants to go through the process and play international cricket. International cricket is not easy, he may well not do much.
Raza opting to bat first is just weird. That did not help our cause. That Irish bowling attack can cause anyone problems. Our bowling attack can cause problems for good batters and it does. A good ball from anybody can get you out. Our problems have always been in the batting dept and it's at an all time low.
If only somebody could work out what is causing this woeful mediocrity amongst all our batsmen, it's a disease.
It's a game of millimeters and we seem unable to bridge that tiny little gap. Maybe that's what cricket is about, that tiny little gap is actually an abyss.
What part does it play being in a shit team on your psyche?
It would be interesting to put Kohli in our team. Would he continue to bang runs or would he succumb to our general malaise. I suspect the answer would be surprising.
I asked one of the overseas what he thought of our domestic. He said it was generally good, but there were passengers in most teams. That clearly makes a very big difference. All the coaches/selectors in every team think they can hide a couple of players within a team and the better guys will carry them. It's becoming clear that that is a real part of our problems at every level, from age group up to national level. I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I don't know if I posted this earlier but Tino and Andrew were saying Dom Bess was surprised at the standard being decent. I think maybe we have 1 team too many. That's how you have passengers.
They need to seriously consider Gary Brent for the main job. He seems to be doing wonders with the women. They don't have some of the problems we see with the men when it comes to mentality.
He didn't have an easy job basically turning these women to pro cricketers. He has done very well
The only positives currently are that Burl and Madande have shown they have a bit of backbone and should be solid enough at 5 and 6 for us going forward.
Christ knows who bats in the top four for us long term though. The options are extremely few. And as much as a certain poster keeps praying to allah it whoever for it, Jonathan Campbell is not going to single handedly turn us into a world class side
Only other positive currently is that Ngarava is properly world-class now. His significant improvement and rise this year has been overlooked a bit due to the rest of the team being shit.

Nah bro, don’t upset the apple cart he’s got unfinished business with the #ladychevrons yet.
He essentially got sidelined for all the wrong reasons and now he's gratefully accepted the role because it opens all doors for him that a role in the men's team may not have.
Yet another decision that backfired badly. If he was offered a role in the men's team he may well not accept it.
Taps, passengers are also created by selecting friends, relatives, paying clients and political selections. Happens everywhere, but we can't afford to do that anymore.
