This I totally agree with. And there is no point for these guys to come one after the other. Send one up at the top of the order with a liscence to go for it. And not to plod around but with the intention to go at whatever s thrown at them. If it fires good if it doesnt then so be it. We still have good wickets in hand. We cant have everyone even our big hitters, trying to consolidate and build an innings they just go out that way. Let them go out and hit the ball. So one of them comes in early and the other later. Initially I thought that would have been the plan by feilding in two similar players. Bring one of them in before Williams and craig. Whether we get off to a good start or not. The opposition will certainly not be expecting it.brmtaylor.com admin wrote: If I was Chigumbura, I'd be a bit worried - they are basically the same player. I think the next time we bat first, Chigumbura should assert his authority. Either by opening the innings or coming in at number three, and going hell for leather in that first 10 overs. There's no point saving both himself and Mire for the last 10-15 overs when the game is already lost.
I wouldnt mind Dav Whatmore repeating this very same text to the batsmen. But I fear thats what might happen, treat Ireland with respect and they come out and party. They definitely dont respect us and that is the one match that I am concerned about. I would celebrate more if we beat Ireland than if we beat India.brmtaylor.com admin wrote: there's one game we do not want any of this cautious batting rubbish, it's against Ireland. Ireland don't respect us, so they are going to hit us out of the park - we know that. So there's no point treating their medium pacers like Steyn and Johnson either.
