Agreed - the defence of Wishart cannot be supported. He may (did) have had some talent, but he had more chances (after failure) than any other Zimbabwe player of his generation and his record appositely speaks for itself. He has poor returns at 1st class, test and ODI level. He failed, regardless of his level of talent, so how can he be underrated? By definition he can only be overrated.sloandog wrote:What did he do ?? Seriously mate, not having a pop or anything, but what did he do to show the world (or even us Zimbabwean supporters) that he was a class act.Dr_Situ(ZimFanatic) wrote:And i disagree with the post that Wishart was an over-rated player. Definitely not.
He played 90 ODI's, scoring 2 hundreds and scoring 5 half centuries in 82 knocks.
Compare him to Vusi Sibanda, who has played 85 ODI knocks, and he's scored 12 ODI half centuries and one hundred.
Sibanda is better technically, and has much more talent
Most overrated/underrated

Re: Most overrated/underrated
Two strikes to Robin. Very impressive analysis abt Alaister Campbell and Hammie and Guy Whitall. And the last reply Dr Situ. Which reminds me: when Alaister Campbell scored a dashing 60 odd (mind you even Stuart Matsikenyere was described by the British press as dashing as well!)against Pakistan very early in his career he was quickly compared to I think David Gower! And then he didnt get his first test century for 89th tests! Definitely Alaister was overrated
