NPL is like some younger players domestic season? How exactly is it different from the Logan Cup?

14 teams for a start, so I would guess over the course of the season around 170 guys will get a chance. It’s a lower standard than the main franchise stuff for sure.

I suppose it’s a warm-up for the main season really. And a chance for uncontracted guys to try and win a franchise spot.

I’m definitely in the more-cricket-the-better camp so I think the NPL is a good invention . It’s an extra 6 weeks of cricket that we didn’t have previously.

Also the qualification system from the provincial leagues that they’ve introduced this year is probably good. In theory should add some competition and spice to the local club leagues

He looked really good in u19's but got done for his action. Has he corrected it or are ZC just turning a blind eye like they do with Roy Kaia?
Ahh yes I forgot about that. Looked pretty dodgy to me actually. Probably turning a blind eye again.

Ok, yes it's good that we have this which allows more players to be a part of the season. One thing I like about Zimbabwe cricket is that the players come through by playing a lot of 4 day and one day cricket. The foundation in such cases are generally strong and while people may talk about T20 being the future, I think players who are good in longer formats can anyhow adapt easily to T20 stuff, but the other way is not happening. Players only focussed on T20, I feel end up being nowhere.

Akram, Hamid and Anas Aqil are all playing for Takashinga which is interesting.

Chirwa is bowling now. Tough to say on this type of stream but his action looks ok.

I see Mbizo are in this league.

Sadly now without their own ground. It was built with great expense by various charity orgs and some embassies about 10-15 years ago, with the idea being that Mbizo and Emakhandeni would be the 'next Takashingas'.

Sadly the Mbizo ground is no longer in use as they've sold half of the field off for someone to build a church on it. I think the nets are still there and used, but not for matches as the ground has been cut into two.

I think they still play down at Emakhandeni at least.

Takashinga; local club for local people 🙄

Kadza with a shit 100 ball 120. Such a 1990’s strike rate that.

Can’t however fault the church, not my place.
