i never know how seriously you are eugene :) surly this is a case specifically NOT to select him. anyway, as he's in zim now let him develop and see where it takes him - good for him to be playing well alongside the svelt looking Hammy :D

NO! If they want to go then they're welcome to leave.

Judging from the conversations around club cricket, not to mention the current batch in FC cricket, there's a healthy supply of players. We only need 11-14 national players at a time and the current crop/generation have another 5 years to go. By that time I'm sure the Chataras, Kasuzas, Musokos, Charis, Nathan + Moor(if they don't defect as you so aptly yet unconsciously put it), will be ready. We've got depth, and I'm happy with the standard.

A lot of hard working experienced players are struggling just to get into scarce Tour/A matches, so we will not waste caps on those who are neither patient nor certain about their status regarding Zim cricket. I'd like to think the powers that be at Zimbabwe cricket are smart enough to laugh off this ludicrous suggestion.

Spot on betterdays! ;)

I think Maehara cleared this one up anyway when he said that a Zim cap makes no difference to how long it takes to qualify for another country. So throwing caps at random 15 year olds who scored a 50 in a club match, as seems to be the proposed course of action here, would have no impact on their future availability anyway...

Looks like I am outnumbered on this one. I don't think ZC listen to this forum anyway. If they did, Matsi would have been sent into exile years ago.

I also think it is a good idea to blood players when they are young. If you give them a taste of international cricket, perhaps they will stick around too.

It could also be a great way to discover new talent. Masakadza, Taylor, Taibu all burst on to the scene as teenagers... domestic form can be a bit deceiving, but if a kid comes along and notches up an international half century or better as those three did it's pretty much proof that you've got something to work with.
i'd say it would be shortlived. he gets ghis 50 but cant get on top of weaker attacks...that tells me you have a typical zinbabwean batsan. one big score followed by 4 fails.

i kind of agree with eugene. qualigfy them young and bvring them to the family so to speak
