It’s the technique and a solid defence. We sometimes forget that the most basic thing for a batsman is a solid defence. Some of our guys score tons of runs domestically but you just know under pressure they will crack because they don’t have a good technique. Maru, TK and Wes are good examples of this. Kaia is a good example of the opposite where they need to back him more because he has the skill set. I would say Madande has some decent technique as well.

Time will tell, but if Gumbie keeps there's guys better than Madande, all day.

Hasaranga was missing from SLs WC squad and that was a big factor in their abysmal performance. Two wickets in no time for Wanindu and once against Zimbabwe batters look clueless against quality spin.

I remember they struggled against Noor Ahmed, who later got smacked around by other teams, against Usman Qadir, who later lost his place in Pak side, let alone quality ones like Wanindu or Theekshana and others.

Ervine also gone, Zimbabwe just cannot play Hasaranga. This itself shows what kind of spinners they are facing in domestic cricket.
