I was also reading about the keeper batsman having been in India for two years? Is that correct?

Chigumbura’s son was at that academy in India for over twelve months yes. Some of the others have been back and forth too.

Not sure who’s paid for that.

Very interesting to know how these selections are made to attend OMTEX cricket institute in India and who is actually bank roling these Indian training programs. Setting up such centres locally and getting the right coaches could benefit a lot more kids with Zimbabwe being a test playing nation and all.
