I personally think from a player perspective the talent is there to keep us afloat. Its a matter of convincing kids that there is a future playing for ZC. That is why we need a change of leadership at board level.
For me I think Burl Tari and Murray have a good future ahead of them. Convincing a Malcolm Lake or Nick Welch or Ed Byrom or Ben Curran or Matigimu and eventually Blessing should be high on the priority list. Add Mavuta Mumba Wellington and a few others and you already have the future team right there. What we need is a leadership with vision. A leadership that can see such simple things.
With the ICC now paying players and watching the money it shouldnt be that hard to convince guys to stick around. It really shouldnt. What are the chances that the ICC would default? Zero!

Yep, it’s a strange situation where you only need a few good players to really boost your A side and National side, but a whole bunch of them to get a quality FC system back on track. These guys have to go. There’s no future under them, with or without a corrupt ICC to hold their hands. They are too corrupt and bone idle to follow simple written daily instructions.

I agree TapsC there is enough good young talent around to at least keep results as they are now if they can get these guys back, if I were starting today running ZC my first task would be to rejuvenate the domestic competition so players could at least earn a living from playing in it which would get these guys back into the domestic system at least. At this point convincing them to play for the national side shouldn't be difficult as long as they can see the 'New Zc' were paying their bills on time.
Once I had the domestic and national team going smoothly I would put all the resources into re-building the academy and focus on producing good young players to hopefully build a more than competitive team in the future.
People will argue some of these guys will still seek a career in England, but I feel most will know unless they're 'Sam Curran good' they'll just be another nobody county player, a chance to play for their country will always draw them back, even with the decades of corrupt runnings of the game they still come back for a nibble.
Some say the end is near but a bright future isn't too far away either if we get the right people in charge.

Byrom would be great to get. I wish we could have him.
