tho Doc ... we cannot keep experimenting with openers. there are a few eyebrow-raising selections but for me the #1 & 2 spot are not amoung them yet

Sibanda has the best technique in the country, and for me, he has the potential to be world class. I'm always going to be a Vusi supporter because he plays straight, in the V and can actually provide some class at the top. But i must say, if he constantly gets in, and gets out much longer, the selectors have a valid reason to drop him, and maybe bring in a young opener like Kazuza. But Sibanda, IMO, is better than Mazakadza and is on equal with Sean Williams and Brendan Taylor.

And as i type, Waller pisses away his wicket

I tend to agree Dr_Situ(ZimFanatic), for slightly different reasons though. For the last 10 years, except for the periods when Taibu has been in the team, Taylor has been the best wicket keeper in the country. I know people will disagree, but that's my view. And I think your best wicket keeper should be your Test wicket keeper. I also think Sangakkara should be Sri Lanka's Test wicket keeper.

That said, I understand the reasons for selecting a specialist wicket keeper so I don't see it as a huge tactical blunder or selection mistake. I probably prefer Chakabva because he's demonstrated he can grind out a score at Test level (in foreign conditions at that), but it's good to see Mutumbami being given some opportunities. God knows we need a young player to make a surprise century one day - we can't rely on the same few forever - so maybe it will be him?

And Waller is gone. Taylor extremely lucky to still be there. Crucial period coming up now; Chigumbura needs to prove his worth as a batsman today. He needs to take it upon himself to be there at stumps tonight.
