Afghans and Palestinians are a different sort alltogether. As long as there's oxygen and sunlight they will find a way to persist.

They don't. All of the guys live in afghanistan only. Although since most of the best guys play t20 leagues all year round they get to be back home pretty less understandably.

Yeah, the conditions for women in certain ways have worsened undoubtedly but there is now more peace in Afghanistan than it has been in the last twenty years. If you go outside the cities of kabul, herat, kandahar, etc the people in the rural communities by and large welcome the taliban.

I'd also welcome a guy sporting an AK, double bandoliers and a string of Russian ears hanging off his belt.

Well, it doesn't matter when you share the exact same mindset as the taliban. They're more than happy to have their women living under such conditions. The west were succesful in creating a somewhat western inclined soceity in the big cities but no success elsewhere.

‘By and large’ isn’t appropriate here when you are talking about only the male population.Crastle_cog wrote: ↑Sat Nov 04, 2023 5:30 amYeah, the conditions for women in certain ways have worsened undoubtedly but there is now more peace in Afghanistan than it has been in the last twenty years. Or do the women not count in your view?

No they don’t. Rashid Khan hasn’t been in Afghanistan for about 3 years. I would assume it’s the same for a few of the others.

That Phillips 6 off Rauf might be the best shot I've ever seen. Back foot straight bat on drive into the 3rd tier. Was probably hitting top of off if he'd missed it.
Absolutely no idea how he did that. Spooky strength and skill

Ya when Latham comes in at 8 you've got a serious batting line-up.
