Epic collapse from Afghanistan!

Keeping NRR in mind no excuse to use more than 32-33 overs to chase this down.

 since he did a great job of reporting 12k fans were at every Zim game in the qualifiers. BCCI said Secretzimbo is the man to count our attendance figures.
I never said the first part as it is wildly incorrect but anyway why am I the bad guy suddenly

Half decent crowd in Dharamshala today as well. Bangladesh always have good support, fair play to them.

Afghanistan have the potential to do a 2019 repeat and lose all 9 again I feel.

This format has a lot to answer for and no wonder nobody is interested. There is very little jeopardy early on in the competition and the first few rounds of games feel pretty pointless. It will be literally weeks before there is any excitement and must-win games.

South Africa have some serious fire power in their line up this time round. Wow. De Kock, RVD, Klassen, Markham and Miller is a scary proposition. What makes it even better is that Bavuma can score quickly up top too, and they're all in form.

Then you've got Gerald Coetzee who wallops it too. Having him in this team is fantastic. A proper old school tear away who wants to bowl rapid

In India we might have the biggest market in cricket but there is something you guys need to know. Throughout the board across most gen-z individuals, the craze for cricket is at it's all time low. Our newer generation is much more interested in other sports than the previous generations were and it's being reflected. Why wouldn't you when it's just repeatative. Every year play against Australia and England and call it a day. It gets really boring after a certain point. I don't even remember the last time I saw an ICT game live lol. Ofc it varies from region to region. My experience in Bengal will differ from another guy's experience in say Delhi but the overall consensus is that the interest is on a decline. Don't get me wrong, it won't be dying anytime soon but the gradual shift of interest as most of Gen Z reaches the 30 year mark and form the main market will be quite noticeable. Even for the normal Indian public , most of the people won't be able to name half of the 15 man squads there at the wc except for India itself. And I'm saying that for the people who'd be watching the games from the stadium.
Yup that's a good post. Agreed.

More importantly Indian fans, most of them, are Indian cricket fans, they won't even know about majority of the players in some of the other nations unless those lads also play the IPL.

This WC hasn't been marketed well either. I haven't seen such a low profile build up to a WC ever.

On top of all that Star Sports and experts on media and social media are only talking about India... Some are behaving as if we are already in semis.. Gill top scorer, Rohit double hundred, Virat another 3 centuries, Kuldeep, Bumraj, Siraj... It's been all about India, India, India as if other teams do not exist.

Even on the day of Eng-NZ match Star Sports was showing Indian team has landed in Chennai visuals... I really lost hope after that 😂

In the pre show Star Sports didn't even mention about Netherlands, as if they are not even there. Absolutely hopeless broadcasting.
I hate the Americanization of our culture in cricket. Part of the reason I lost interest in the ICT. It's so broken. This mindset will only take you so far, the default perceived notion that you're the best and no one else can compete lol. And don't get me started on broadcasting and Star Sports. They would rather broadcast a cricketer's birthday when your country is going all out in a football match against top asian sides say which they only are supposed to broadcast. They're just dogs of BCCI and I'm not even joking.
Yeah spot on. I agree
