Welch  he’s getting by. Not doing enough to get the chop but not doing enough to be inked onto the ZC team sheet.

At this rate Welch will have to grind out for a season if he is not careful. Its not fair to guys like Ben Curran if they have to grind it out. If he is just out of form then he also shouldn't be selected. That's how it's supposed to work. So far I don't think he has shown that he is significantly better than what we already have
About 200 runs ahead of anyone in the T20's and averaging over 50 in the 50 over stuff, a shit 4 day game and he's out of sight.

Authorities on a bit of a witch hunt for Starlink users, but I see Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation is using it to livestream
Always two sets of rules.

The problem with this is that Naqvi was averaging in the 70s in the Pro50. Shumba, Mavuta and Musakanda were in the 60s. They give him a straight to road to the national team against weak opposition on paper and he averaged 13 in 7 games. He hasn't shown to be any better than the likes of Shumba and co. We have to tell it as it is. Not yet at least.

His exclusion has given an opportunity to Bennet so it really a loss? Yes there is Marumani in there but I would assume he is the back up keeper in the squad. Marumani also did score a 50 during the same 7 game run Welch was struggling in

The ZC app saying Welch Jr is now batting. Was there a concussion sub?

I'm not arguing against his exclusion at all. It must be on merit, which it currently isn't. They persevere with the same folk year in and year out to no avail. The only person of real ability in T20 they haven't tried for very long is K-Long... and Welch.
Theyre yet to find an attacking opening combo for T20 on a normal pitch. Everyone struggled in Namibia. Maru was dropped 4 times on his way to his almost run a ball 50, but its in the book. HSC is an entirely different deck. I'm holding thumbs for TK, he's got ability.

As far as Shumba and Masakanda's averages go in Pro 50, they were excellent. The selectors should get them to open in the next ODI because that's basically your argument.
Bennett should open tomorrow, again your argument.
If they dropped Welch at 1 for Bennett at 6 I'm spotting the selection issue

It means he's got a call-up for T20 tomorrow I would guess.

Something tells me Jonathan Campbell is going to start asking questions too. Let's say there is this supposed quota. If it's there and Bennett is being picked before him as well Welch he will start asking is it fair. Can't blame him. Yes people have doubts about him but in the end all somebody has to do is perform where they can. If he has a decent first class season he deserves a chance. He has started well.

What has Naqvi's average got to do with national selection?
Unless you know something we don't?
