How has this happened? The schedule always said A1 would be playing in Harare.

From the Playing Conditions:
Teams will retain their original Group seeding in the Super Six stage schedule, regardless of where they finish in
the Group stage. If a team outside the top 3 seeded teams in a particular Group qualifies for the Super Six stage, it will
take the seeding of the team it replaces (e.g. if the team seeded A1 qualifies for the Super Six they will be A1, even if
they finish 2nd or 3rd in Group A, however if it doesn’t qualify and the team seeded A5 qualifies in its place, A5 would
then assume the seeding A1 in the Super Six schedule)
https://resources.pulse.icc-cricket.com ... -Clean.pdf

So Zimbabwe as A2 were always (if they qualified) going to play their Super 6 games in Bulawayo based on the schedule.

Huh. Weird playing conditions but okay - thanks for clearing it up!

Got me thinking anyway about how they could expand HSC cheaply. Honestly it felt chaotic yesterday. No one cares about safety (it's Africa  ) so it's a matter of time before an incident if you keep up attracting tens of thousands of people to an old and small ground like that.

They could put a third one of the big uncovered terrace grandstands where castle corner is I suppose, and maybe another one in the south east corner. But then there probably isn't the physical space behind that area to safely get that increased number of people in/out/around the ground. Or get rid of the embankment and put some terraces there, but that's probably not possible without eating into the space used for the nets behind. And the embankment is popular with families/kids.

Or they just keep increasing ticket prices, but then you risk pricing out a lot of the more vocal fans.

They'll have to do something for the 2027 WC.

I've never been a fan of rhe grassy knoll. That could go.

Also a couple of losses and we are back to 10 spectators, crowds are fickle.

This should not be a topic of conversation because it will encourage these muppets to build a stadium in Gokwe or Victoria Falls or wherever their insane idea was.

I've only seen the larger stands filled only a handful of times, I think the seating capacity doesn't need to be increased for a while.

Think they've been pretty much full for every saturday/sunday game Zim have played over the last 12 months. Even against the Netherlands!

Could have sold 50k tickets yesterday probably.

Googly is right though - a bad run and interest would wane  Also when football gets its act together I'm not sure cricket will sustain this level of interest

Our football is right up there with our television station.
I can't think of a single country we could beat?
Uzbekistan?
