Re: Zimbabwe A vs Pakistan A
Clive Madande is one of our most consistent batters and genuinely looks better than Madhevere or whoever.
How can such an unheralded guy look like a better player than such a naturally gifted player than Madhevere or Marumani? Madande didn’t even make the u19 but looks A million dollars

Yeah, watched a bit of highlights of this series and Madande looks so sublime!
Re: Zimbabwe A vs Pakistan A
Clive Madande should be one of the first names on the team sheet. Very promising player.
Neil Johnson, Alistair Campbell, Murray Goodwin, Andy Flower (w), Grant Flower, Dave Houghton, Guy Whittall, Heath Streak (c), Andy Blignaut, Ray Price, Eddo Brandes

Wowee the jury is still out on Gumbie ? He's just done what those other spuds can't do.
Re: Zimbabwe A vs Pakistan A
The upcoming world cup qualifiers are going to be a disaster imo. The selectors keep going to the well with the same players that keep under achieving . I've never seen so many opportunities given to under performing cricketers in my life as a cricket fan. It makes me laugh at all the hype around these players who just don't get the job done. The only opening batsman that deserves a spot is Gumbie and it took him 2 hits to make a hundred . The other candidates are cannon fodder , Ervine , Williams, Raza, Burl and Madande are fine and then the bowlers are very hit and miss with no consistency. Campbell, Bennett and Myers should be next in line after this campaign , forget the 3 amigos for now.

It's the pressure of the positionsecretzimbo wrote: ↑Fri May 26, 2023 1:20 amMadande has looked imperious in every innings in this serious
Madhevere and Marumani are the first 3 spots in the lineup and that's more pressure than batting 6 or 7down the lineup...
Gumbie is now in probably opening with Craig Ervine and maybe dropping Madhevere to 5 or 6 for him to gain confidence
Re: Zimbabwe A vs Pakistan A
This is true. Wes averages 38 batting at number 6. I think after the qualifiers they need to push Mandande up the order. He would have had enough time to gel into the team without too much pressure. He looks like someone who can score a hundred. Wes unfortunately does not.Mueddie28 wrote: ↑Fri May 26, 2023 5:33 amIt's the pressure of the positionsecretzimbo wrote: ↑Fri May 26, 2023 1:20 amMadande has looked imperious in every innings in this serious

Yeah that was our 1 shit game. It always happens
Re: Zimbabwe A vs Pakistan A
It's like comparing apples and oranges.
1-4 is different gravy in terms of difficulty.
Of course the guys from 5-8 have to finish, which is pressure in itself, but the batting conditions are easier.
Madande has done very well, but he's yet to finish a game for us, barring that lucky hoik for 4 after some agonising swings and misses.
He's gaining in confidence, and becoming (dare I say it) reliable.
