2023 ODI World Cup Discussion
Re: 2023 ODI World Cup Discussion
Funny enough when we pulled off that miracle win I was never comfortable until he got out. He is the perfect counter attacking player

Still don't think have the Aussies have enough. I mght have been wrong about how they would fare but I still feel they are relying on a lot of individual brilliance right now. As a team I feel they can't compete with the best

India must have arguably one of the greatest ODI bowling attacks ever
Re: 2023 ODI World Cup Discussion
Better than Faraz, Nackerville, Larry, Mumba and Tiripano?
You need to lay off the bronco fella.

I'm not against this.
Maxwell produced a masterclass and I'm so happy he did it against Afghanistan. They are quickly getting up there with India for me as sides I do not like. All their players were talking big shit about Aus cancelling their series with them, but they choked massively. Even Rashid went against his whole, "I"ll never play in BBL again".

You still have to hand it to them, they've really outdid themselves this WC. They've done better than Bangladesh ever have in a WC and have now surpassed us in the ODI rankings, if I am not mistaken. And they are doing it all with young players...whatever their real age, these guys will still be here 10 years from now in their prime.zimbos_05 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 08, 2023 1:08 am

They must have scared the shit out of Australia before Maxwell got to 150 and they felt they would actually win it.

One of the greatest ODI knocks in history. Take a bow Glenn Maxwell.
Great result for Maxi and Australia!
I can't have any sympathy for the Afghans, happy for their loss

We also have to be honest with ourselves. Why would Afghanistan want to play us? They are miles ahead of us now. I don't think we are worse, we have just stagnated. Zero improvement.
The only thing tha might interest them at this point is a 3 match test series so that they can show they deserve to be part of the WTC.

Some of the batting in this tournament in particular shows just how far behind we are.
Neil Johnson, Alistair Campbell, Murray Goodwin, Andy Flower (w), Grant Flower, Dave Houghton, Guy Whittall, Heath Streak (c), Andy Blignaut, Ray Price, Eddo Brandes

Ahead of England though playing to try and secure a CT place hey.
And that’s without the main man Knackerville. Sides will fear the partnership of him and Raza pummelling them into oblivion like a 1000 Hamas rockets.
