Zimbabwe Emerging Tour of South Africa
Re: Zimbabwe Emerging Tour of South Africa
Atrocious cricket , 0/64 from 8 overs . Bowling part time spinners. Blokes who can't make a run getting a bowl now. What a joke
Re: Zimbabwe Emerging Tour of South Africa
Nope, but we all know that’s the best he’ll get

Re: Zimbabwe Emerging Tour of South Africa
Madhevere , Munyonga , Kaia all bowled in front of Mavuta. Brilliant captaincy

I understand Nelson's frustrations now.

Glad someone can see the light

Brings it crashing home.
Dave has done wonders at the top with the national side, well wonders may be pushing it. He’s got the guys into a cohesive unit who like the environment, he’s took away that fear of failure a la Bazball but perhaps a little too far, guys playing in one gear, the ultra aggressive gear, at any cost.
Truth is there was the series wins vs Bangladesh last year on the back of Raza, that ODI win vs Australia where Burl bowled a once in a lifetime innings and that Pakistan win at the t20, where everything just clicked defending a below par score. They’re the highlights of this Dave era.
Maybe a pipe dream but we could have made the semi final at the t20, at one point it was more than possible. I’d have been looking to draw that test series against WI, they aren’t the team they used to be and well that recent World Cup qualifier was a complete failure, we should have qualified end of. We had the home advantage and did all the hard work.
This “Emerging” tour shows nothing below the proper national side has changed. If you’re in the clique, you’ve got a game. Thought part of Dave’s remit was overseeing development and the development of coaches. I accept Dave has to play that certain game we all know and love but there’s no way he can be 100% in agreement with the set up of this tour.
The reality is these Saffer youngsters are outperforming our team which is full of capped internationals. It’s embarrassing.
