Pashtuns are 42 percent of the population if Wikipedia is to be believed, majority of the population but still a minority.
That said, their ascent has been meteoric.
The county would have a lot of potential if they could she the taliban and the taliban mindset.

Muzarabani's average pace has improved a lot which is great to see, even if he is still very raw.
Re: [Match Thread] 4th ODI: Afghanistan v Zimbabwe
We legit have to go back to that 8-3. It's the only time our batting looked decent.

Re: [Match Thread] 4th ODI: Afghanistan v Zimbabwe
There were days in the past, when lesser talented sides were regularly marauded by Zimbabwe in the best way possible. Remember that massive 172 of Wishart against Namibia, 2003. Masakadza killing off Kenya with 178 and 156 in 2008/09. We are a pale shadow of that now. Can we genuinely believe we will see at least one such innings in the qualifiers from any of our batsmen?
Re: [Match Thread] 4th ODI: Afghanistan v Zimbabwe
If Wishart could score 172 against Namibia, surely the vastly more talented BT could play more than one innings of significance against Afghanistan. We may have played our last World Cup. Perhaps Kenya, Uganda, and Zimbabwe could play an African tri-series every four years during the world cup?CrimsonAvenger wrote: ↑Fri Feb 16, 2018 3:25 pmThere were days in the past, when lesser talented sides were regularly marauded by Zimbabwe in the best way possible. It's interesting that people are raising the meteoric rise of Afghanistan and it is true they have come a long way in a very short space of time. My understanding is that they have big backers in India, including the BCCI, which has helped them establish themselves more quickly than they might have done. Zimbabwe unfortunately does not have such wealthy friends and although there is undoubted talent, there is simply not the resources or seemingly a desire among the senior members of ZC to improve the structure and standards.
It's such a shame - I am based in UK but I have visited Zimbabwe several times. There is huge potential and many determined young players who are keen to progress. Sadly they are victims of the atrocious management and misappropriation of funds by a number of previous board members, which means ZC is still servicing huge debts to this day.

One of those hopeless days.. thank God I don't support arsenal too. ZC gives me too many chest pains as it is..
Couple of positives. One is that Taylor is back looking like our best batsman again.. didn't look troubled at all until that shot. Ervine is back.. Slowly but surely down the order he is finding his form.
Feel for Tari and Burl. Got out play the same shot.. must be what they have told to do but they must do better.
I'm suggesting we make the next game a full on trial. Williams might be back so I suggest we play like this
Burl
Moor
Tari
BT
Ervine
Raza
Waller
Cremer
Chisoro
Vitori
Blessing
Let's rest Hami Mire Chatara and Jarvis. Let's make it a real try out for Blessing Vitori Chisoro Waller PJ Tari and burl and warn them there might be some last minute changes. The possible changes being Williams for one of them mainly.

If chisoro plays in next match and does super good it might raise more questions than answers for heath streak and his selection policy in earlier matches.
Re: [Match Thread] 4th ODI: Afghanistan v Zimbabwe
Playing 3 seamers didn’t doom us
Shit house batting did
Hami, Mire and Raza all out sweeping
Taylor playing the same half hearted lofted drive
Burl and Tari did all the hard work to face 30 balls the. To gift Nabi simple return catches.
None of those deliveries were special all the batsman got themselves out
Mire and Hami need to stop sweeping so much especially the premeditated ones Hami should have drive his for 6 if he played the ball as it was.
Taylor really needs to be more responsible especially when the side is struggling he can’t afford to lose his wicket. He’s hitting way too many balls in the air
Good to see Ervine back in form he’s now top scorer in 3 games this series
