Quite disastrous. Zimbabwe do not have much to look forward to next year then? Why are the Afghans not playing next year? They don't have much cricket scheduled either.
Basically, Zim has no money to host unless it’s a profitable touring team like India and no one wants to host Zim due to traditionally bad away form. Vicious circle.

Has anybody noticed that the crowds for the current Australia summer have been awful? The stadiums and grounds in general are all virtually half full. In years gone by these games were absolutely packed!
The season has started earlier , the backlash of the sandpaper and aus generally sucking atm hasn’t helped . They recon there will be 70 thousand at the MCG tonight for the t20 . Public takes a while to warm up especially with afl season only finishing 7 weeks ago roughly . Cricket is massive here and is our national sport besides AFL of course .
Indian and English cricket is a cult and bazball is delusional and embarrassing. Bumrah chucks it, Cummins has a shocking seam position, stokes is a fraud. Bangladesh shouldn’t have test status, Bradman was a coat.Marco Jansen is good, zim will rise !

If I remember correctly, all bilateral T20s are internationals from Jan 1st, 2019? We must get Kenya, Namibia and Uganda over and play a 3 match T20I series each against them. We badly need T20 game time. All of it can be done within a month. 9 to 10 T20Is to look forward to if this is done! Don't think this should cost much as well. May be get Botswana as well for 3 matches...
What's the point of playing such low ranked teams? Zimbabwe would do well to play against the likes of Scotland, Netherlands and Ireland, even Afghans.
I'm just looking at the practicality. If this is all we can afford, let it at least be this instead of sitting at home with no fixtures. Get some records under the belt along the way if possible. I still feel we should have played Kenya a lot more in ODIs when they were in top flight cricket and boosted some of our numbers, and hence confidence. We were more interested in better competition and kept losing to others in the second half of 2000s and the whole team got into that losing mindset. Play anyone, but play regularly, beat them and gain some confidence! Can't harm anyone. May be we would be infusing some winning culture in the newer crop. Also works as a platform to try out thee younger generation.

Exactly. After that Afghan humiliation last year, Zim played all those associate teams prior to the Sri Lanka tour (from memory it was Canada, Ireland, Scotland and Netherlands) and gained much needed confidence winning most of those games. We need to do that again. Invite teams like UAE and start again. Surely the UAE can bankroll their tour :)

a tri series involving Scotland and Ireland would be awesome for zim, especially if it was in the uk. Would be great for us to play in challenging conditions , Scotland gains exposure to two test playing nations and gets to be noticed on the international stage . The dream would be to set up a one or two test match series with Ireland after the tri series.Even popping over to England for a sneaky one off ODI ( I know I’m dreaming ). Surely this would benefit everyone , events like this is what cricket needs.Would make for great competitive cricket and something besides the big boys as usual playing off.

Scotland's situation is similar to Zimbabwe in some respects. After they beat England in that ODI in June, they havn't played an ODI since. It's ridiculous and makes me really angry.
They tried to host Nepal for 2 ODI's in August but couldn't afford it. They still don't have a fixture list.

The current big 3 are a disgrace. It's all about money. And honestly, I'm getting bored with Ashes, Aus v Ind etc...

Money ruins everything , the love of cricket means jack shit now . Imagine a World Cup with 20 teams . 4 teams a pool , that’s what I want to watch

Do let us know if you found a crocodile under the bed once you wake up, like our beloved Guy Whittall did a few years ago...

:) The real dream for me is to watch Hamilton Masakadza score a regal day 1 hundred at Lords, a Sean Williams masterclass day 3 century at the MCG and a rearguard match saving day 5 ton by Brendan Taylor at Wankhede...
