The Currans are related to Kenyon Ziehl, cousins I think.
Some fishing and beer.

Sam watching the Zim team have a centre wicket at Sports Club. Quite an odd thing to do. He'd hopefully be feeling a pang or two.Marshmallow wrote: ↑Sun Nov 19, 2023 4:05 pmhttps://twitter.com/ZimCricketv/status/ ... Jcw5w&s=19

Some dude is trying to raise money for cricket facilities in the Currans' home town of Rusape. Not sure how legit it is but someone should let Sam and family know.

Solanky from England? If he's related to Solanky from Borrowdale Trauma that's a cheek. They could build a Money Pit stadium in Rusape and it wouldn't dent their pockets.
Sounds like a good cause though, the sort ZC could fund if they hadn't spent 100k on their AGM in Vic Falls.

You see what annoys me is that the local Rusapians won't put a hand in their pockets. 6000 donations of 50c would cover what they need. Until communities learn to help themselves and not stand with their hands out for donations we will never progress.
And feel that the government or whatever organization has let them down if money is not forthcoming. Of course they've let you down, you've voted for the very guys that guarantee they will let you down. Just build your own stuff, you'll feel proud at the end of it, and most vitally you'll look after it and not let it go to hell. It's what's wrong with every rural and government school in Zimbabwe. Not one parent out of millions will lift a finger for the benefit of their kids' schools. That's where it starts, that's the real grass roots- buy-in from parents.
