Most Captains are wicketkeepers or play in the slip
Position..
Cremer's captaincy has affected results
BT or Raza should be the next Zimbabwe captain
Captain history
Andy Flower wk
Taibu wk
Alistair Campbell 1st slip
Just saying

Oh Mueddie28, pls check your facts before you post. Yes, most captains are batsmen & a lot were slippers. But as far as keepers go, test cricket has known 31 keeper/captains. 20 have captained for less than 10 tests. 9 captained between 10-20 tests. Mushfiqur Rahim captained for 28 tests & Dhoni for 60- the record.
Aside from jaybro’s list, I’ll add:
Benaud
Illingworth
Bob Willis
Kapil Dev
Bedi
Waqar Younis
Wasim Akram
Imran Khan
Mashrafe Mortaza
Intikhab Alam
Fazal Mahmood
Darren Sammy
Jason Holder

These are from my living memory. I haven’t included Ian Johnson, Freddie Brown, Lala Amarnath, John Goddard.

I was referring to Zimbabwe history...
Anyway
Waqar Younis
Wasim Akram
Imran Khan
Shane Warne
Were the best bowlers on there team even in the world
Hearth Streak was the most experienced player on the Zimbabwe team...
My point was Cremer some times forced himself to bowl his allotted 10 overs even though sometimes he was expensive..
Think about it Hami 38 wickets & Mire 7 wickets in one day intl -didn't bowl an single over but check how many wickets the have taken & are ecomical
Time to move on from Cremer that's all I am saying

Fine. Then state you mean Zimbabwe history. We can’t read your mind.
And you’re probably right. One dilemma a captain/bowler has, is to when to bowl himself & for how long. Fatigue, if nothing else, clouds one’s judgement. Also, most wicketkeepers are in the leadership group because they have the best seat in the house. But only the special ones can cope with the added responsibility of captaincy.

This is a trash post. If your skipper is a bowler it's fine it just means your VC can't be a muppet with no experience. As long as you have a well selected vice it really isn't a problem.

Yes, IF your VC is not a muppet.
I saw England lose their way in in 82/83 ashes when Bob Willis over bowled himself & let the game drift, losing the initiative.
I saw Ian Botham lose his way in the 81 Ashes & then the captaincy. That was known as Bothams Ashes.
Kapil Dev & Bishen Bedi did not capitalise on weak Australian teams in the seventies & eighties.
I can’t count how many tours of Australia that Pakistan have stuffed up with Imran Khan, Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis & Intikhab Alam as captains.
Struth! I’m a dinosaur!
Perhaps it’s different these days with the plethora of management. And the really good bowlers tend to have massive egos. Not a criticism, it’s just the way it is. And it is imperative to the fact they are good/great bowlers.
Anyway, thanks for your opinion.
