Three best Teams of Zimbawbe & plan to return the test crick

Post by asif »

Asif Ali...............From Pakistan.

I have selected three best teams for Zimbawbe according to conditions. Have a look at these teams and share your views.

Team One for the World T20.

1. Chamu Chibhabha
2. Brendan Taylor
3. Charles Coventry
4. Tatenda Taibu (wk)
5. Hamilton Masakadza
6. Andy Blignaut
7. Elton Chigumbura
8. Greg Lamb
9. Graeme Cremer
10. Prosper Utseya (c)
11. Ray Price

12. Vusi Sibanda
13. Chris Mpofu
14. Craig Ervine
15. Timycen Maruma

This one is best batting line up for Zimbabwe for the T20 World cup. We have four spinners, three seamers and really big batting line till number 9. I put lamb in the 11 due to his turning spin ability. So far so if Zimbabwe playing with this line up & use the player correctly than they can win the matches.

Team Two for the Tri series in Zimbabwe.

1. Dougie Marillier
2. Hamilton Masakadza
3. Sean Williams
4. Tatenda Taibu (wk)
5. Brendan Taylor
6. Charles Coventry
7. Andy Blignaut
8. Elton Chigumbura
9. Prosper Utseya (c)
10. Ray Price
11. Ed Rainsford

12. Kyle Jarvis
13. Chris Mpofu
14. Chamu Chibhabha
15. Graeme Cremer

This is the 2nd best team for Zimbabwe for the Tri series. It’s time to do correct selection & don’t waste the talent of the players like Sean Williams, Marillier, Rainsford & Jarvis. Once again some doubts on captaincy the selection committee should think about it that who is the right man for that job. Is it Masakadza, Price or Blignaut? One more thing is highlighted here that Zimbabwe should use their best fast bowler they have right now like Rainsford & Jarvis. We three spinners, three seamer & batting line till number 8. Marillier is best option to open to accelerate the inning. An other note able thing is that when top five batsmen built the inning then last three can make 100 runs in last 10 overs, all three Coventry, Blignaut & Chigumbura can hit the ball hard & they have the ability to go for the maximum. They will be the key in chasing the big targets.

Team Three for the Tour of South Africa in September.

1. Brendan Taylor
2. Hamilton Masakadza
3. Sean Williams
4. Tatenda Taibu (wk)
5. Sean Ervine
6. Charles Coventry
7. Andy Blignaut
8. Elton Chigumbura
9. Prosper Utseya (c)
10. Ray Price
11. Ed Rainsford

12. Dougie Marillier
13. Kyle Jarvis
14. Graeme Cremer
15. Chris Mpofu

This is the best team from last six years and so. With the return of Ervine after expiring the contract with county, this is the best team Zimbabwe ever head in last six or five years. With this line up we have great left hand & right hand combination after the opening to number 8. As Williams comes to the crease we have one right hander and the then one left hander to come till Blignaut. In this line up we have four seamers and two spinners and it looks really strong batting line up Zimbabwe ever head in past few years. After South African tour we can return to the test cricket at tour of Bangladesh which is the ideal team for Zimbabwe to return the test arena. For the Captaincy I leave over the forums friends and the Zimbabwean Cricket Authority. Think about your Team infact our team and the status of the country. Give us this team for atleast to tours and I have sure that this team can do Miracle in the World cup 2011. But the point is that they should play with this combination because this is perfect team to play in sub continent. If any one can post it to Zimbabwean Cricket Authorities so please post it as quick as possible because it is the best plan to return the test cricket and manage the ranking of the team in international arena.

Best of luck Zimbabwe.

Personally Asif i'd like to see Graeme Cremer invloved in the side a bit more. Take prosper out and have pricey as captain, and in his place should be Graeme. Apart from that, it's a very good selection :D :)

Asif,
i enjoyed your post and what you have tried to do but i cannot agree with you at all on some of your decisions.

Why does Prosper make your team/s...... as CAPTAIN?

i would say 95% of this forum agree he shouldn't be selected in the 11, at least ahead of fellow spinners Price and Cremer. Even Lamb.

And speaking of Cremer.

You only have him in ONE of your teams!!!!

This is the form bowler of Zimbabwe cricket for the last year.

This is the player that some people are saying could be the best leg spinner in the world.
If not now.......maybe soon.

But you select Prosper over him?
What!!!

And lastly, you select Sean Ervine in the 'test' team.

Thats good.

But since we have established Sean Ervine is a part of your thinking...why would you not select him for the T20 and one dayers?

He would be our best player.

I agree with ZIMDOGGY, if Sean's going to play in one team, he has to play in all the teams. He' without doupt our most techniquely correct batsmen, or was. (But hopefully he still can be) ;)

To slandog: I already mentioned that I leave the captaincy decision over the forum friends what ever they think about the captain share their views but I personally think that Zimbabwe Board is not in a mood to change the caption because of few issues. In other worlds if Utseya isn’t the captain of the team than creamer will be the best replacement.

To ZIMDOGGY: For Ervine, I earlier said that I select all the teams according the conditions and availability of the players, like Sean Williams not in the T20 squad so he isn’t the part of first team and similarly Ervine currently played county cricket and he will be available after the end of county season in September and that’s only the reason to pick him in only for that team and for tests and upcoming world cup 2011.

For Jamthala I would say only one thing that different peoples have different thinkings and it's not possible that everyone can agree with you or me. I select these teams according to ground realties and through that Ervine might be only available after the ends of contract, which will be expire in September 2010. After that he'll be in every team of Zimbabwe. For the captin point of view they are very few options to Zimbabwe like Price. Masakadza, Blignaut or Ervine but it'll be only possible when Zimbabwe Cricket Board take interest in changing the captain of the team.

One more thing I want to clear that Please read the notes after every selected team which will clear your mind, if any problem than share it. Please read the full topic deeply which I already shared because that is all about the returning to test cricket and plannig for to be the one of the best team in world of cricket.
This is the right way to use the right players who had the temparment and skills to play the international cricket and lead their country with the proud and honour.

Best of luck Zimbabwe
