Re: Trenchard
Ya, who is this guy? plus he only appeared in tuskers second innings...no stats record of him in the 1st innings according to cricinfo..
Re: Trenchard
He replaced Keith Dabengwa, who was presumably withdrawn so that he could make his way to SA with the national team.safarimike wrote:Ya, who is this guy? plus he only appeared in tuskers second innings...no stats record of him in the 1st innings according to cricinfo..
Re: Trenchard
i dont understand how you can just 'replace' someone halfway through a game.
Otherwise you could put in Gus Mackay halfway through an under 17s game when times are tough.
I dont think they were doing it hoping no one would notice, because ones a white guy the other is dark and the spectators picked it instantly.

Re: Trenchard
That said,
I like the look of this Tranchard bloke...im strongly hoping he is a Zimbabwean of SA heritage (like A flower and Strydom were). He played the most dazzling 50 ive seen in 5 years.
He did it all.
Pull shots, cut shots etc.
Im kind of hoping he gets picked for the A teams second match.....i hold high hopes for this bloke.

Re: Trenchard
It's permitted under certain circumstances - like one of your team being hauled away on national duty half-way through the match, as happened here. I understand it also happens in English county games from time to time, for the same reason.ZIMDOGGY wrote:i dont understand how you can just 'replace' someone halfway through a game.
You can't just substitute people willy-nilly, though.

Gus Mackay would be a super-sub with his thunderbolt-like bowling and his lusty blows with the bat.
