This is a positive sign, although it means nothing until he is named in the 15 man squad. Disappointing that Mark Vermeulen has missed out, I would rank him ahead of Duffin and Waller. I am not surprised to see Dabengwa in the squad, but it is disappointing. Also it seems like Kyle Jarvis is off the radar at the moment - too bad, he is a great talent. From this squad of 30 my WC team would be as follows:
1. Brendan Taylor
2. Hamilton Masakadza
3. Sean Williams
4. Tatenda Taibu (w)
5. Craig Ervine
6. Elton Chigumbura (c)
7. Sean Ervine
8. Prosper Utseya
9. Graeme Cremer
10. Ray Price
11. Christopher Mpofu
12. Charles Coventry
13. Regis Chakabva
14. Greg Lamb
15. Shingirai Masakadza

Very good Preliminary squad. I'd also would have liked to have seen Vermuelan in the mix ahead of Dabengwa, he's atleast scored some runs and contributed to the team.
It'll be a piss take if Dabengwa is in the 15 squad. If he is, the selectors have lost the plot....big time !
But it's great to see Ervine in the mix, very good indeed. Even him being named in the preliminary squad is a step in the right direction. If he's here to stay, and help our cause, we've got a very big and talented addition to our unit.
From that squad, my 15 squad would be as followed:
1. B.Taylor
2. H.Mazakadza
3. S.Williams
4. T.Taibu
5. S.Ervine
6. C.Ervine
7. E.Chigumbura
8. P.Utsea
9. G.Cremer
10. S.Mazakadza
11. R.Price (Cpt)
12. C.Mpofu
13. G.Lamb
14. C.Coventry
15. K.Meth
Just out of curiosity, how did you come across this squad

Vermuelen still good, but i guess they would say he is much more a Test player than ODI, Vusi same though and expect to see him dropped. 30 man squad does not say a lot till they cut it down to 15.

Sky Sports. Link was tweeted on ZC's official Twitter account, so I assume the squad's correct.
Don't read too much into Sean Ervine's inclusion, though - he's not due to decide until next month if he'll make himself available or not, but ZC will have had to name him in the provisional squad "just in case". He could still decide to stick with Hampshire.

Positive news nonetheless, but I think Sibanda, Mutizwa, Duffin and (in the future Raza) are in the Test squad and the ZC Should just make that clear. C'mon Sean, you know you want to!

Ervice (snr) would be like gold dust to this squad and would naturally fit the elton chigumbura bill as a batting all-rounder

And another thing is that he's quick.
He can bowl with some gas and along side Mazakadza and Mpofu we have a decent pace battery if he does decide to play.

Possible world cup 11
Taylor
Duffin
S Ervine
Taibu
Williams
C Ervine
Chigumbura
S Masacadza
Utseya
Cremer
Price
Nice Mix of left hand/Right hand batsman to blunt the spinners, I think this would be my favourite side
Duffin inclusion might suprise a few people but he has been in good form in the OD matches domestically of late. he can set a platform for sure

It would have been great if both Ervine and Anthony Ireland were in the 15 man squad.
It really would would be a dream come true..
