Re: Spin bowling talents in Zimbabwe
have seen both in domestic t 20.
Chikuwa has very nice action. A classic left armer action. Doubt with Zim domestic cricket he will be able to nurture his talent but potential is there.
Chipungu is offcourse leggie. His growth would also be hindered by Zim dimwstic cricket and standard there too. Leggie is always good wicket taking option if he gets his length right.
Why afghinstan is bridging the gap is the quality of wrist spinners.
Otherhand zim are scared and playing guys like chisoro Wellington won't help them. He was not even able to restrict one end scoring.
I was surprized these 2 guys were not given full go in domestic competetion. Thats why I m being too critical to Zim management. They are ruining cricket.
Playing with players of medicore quality very gentle medium pacer, Finger Spinners who r mostly kind of part timer quality, batters who don't apply at all and lack technique to play straight and long would never enhance the cricketing credentials in Zim.

Where is that chinaman Tadiwanashe Nyangani ?
Re: Spin bowling talents in Zimbabwe
Yes .. I have my sights on Nyangani as well ..but he will need most work upon him .. he will take more time to develop ..
I believe easiest to develop is Brighton Chipungu ..he will settle more quickly ..
Nd Malcolm Chikuwa needs to be given chance..
These 3 are best spin bowling prospect in Zimbabwe ..

For T20s Wellington Masakadza and Tapiwa Mufudza are OK ..
But for Tests and ODIs .. Malcolm Chikuwa nd Brighton Chipungu should be given chance nd Nyangani as reserve player to inhance his development ..

Re: Spin bowling talents in Zimbabwe
it's not about u expecting Shane and saqlin from these. Those players had advantage of the best domestic cricket. Some of the best batters to bowl. Then got into the highest level to nuture their skills.
These players don't hve luxury to bowl in competetive environment and to develop. But potential is there, needs lot of bowlings at nets and then batter should of the highest class to justify and nuture their skills. But unfortunately they won't get that in Zim domestic setup. Is it poosiblity Zim A team can be given a go in provincial tournament of South Africa if Zim has resources for that. Nambia benefited a lot from that to raise their standards.

The spin bowling spot is our largest hole among several at the moment.
