Vote here for your man of the 'series' for the Test match against New Zealand. You can find stats for the Test here.

At the end of the season (which for this purpose is the final day of the Logan Cup final next year), we'll tally up who has the most votes and see who the ZCF Player of the Year is. I'll put a running tally of the results in the Announcements section of the forum so you can see who's making the running.

You can vote for up to three players, and you can change your vote at any time up until voting closes.

Kyle Jarvis, Vusi, Taylor!

Whoever voted for Waller must've put him ahead of one of those three! I wonder why! :?

Jarvis has to be the man , without taking wickets you can not compete in a Test match . New Zealand could have ballooned the total beyond our reach , but Jarvis is now becoming the bowler we want him to be . My hope is for a fit Brian Vitori .

Not that we should account for who voted for whom, but yes I am one of those that did, Waller above Vusi, as Waller ran out of partners in his 72 (not an excuse), and with all crumbling made in a pressure situation 29. Yes Vusi was unlucky second innings with a shadey lbw, but unfortunately we can only base our votes on what transpired, he made 13 in that second innings, so Waller made 5 less runs, but had to come in at 6 and bat largely with a tail, on debut, and an average of 101 compared to Vusi's 53....

Close but my vote went to Waller...

What's tougher opening the batting or facing the older ball, plus tired opening, first & second change bowlers in later overs?

Interesting question, I'd say openning against the new ball, but at the same time what's tougher, having batsmen (top batsmen in your team) around you or having to bat with a fellow debutante (Chakabva), and the tail as all collapses around you. Its marginal, and remember Waller did face the second new ball in the first innings with Chakabva, so even more kudus for him...as he has done both in the first innings.

I voted for Waller as well. The same reasoning as yours :)

I didn't vote for Waller or Vusi. But the other thing to add to FPs reasoning is that often bowlers tails are up towards the end becasue they feel they're taking wickets...and if the new ball is there too all the more.

The two no brainers were Taylor and Jarvis but my third option was Mpfou, a small part of me did it because no-one else had and yet he took 5 wickets (compared with Jarvis' 6) and in the first innings had good returns on economy rate as well as wickets.
