A bit of fun, yea lets keep it on the cricket page as more people will see it.
Everyone explain why they chose their username Sloandog is pretty simple to be honest. Where i used to play cricket one of the lads called me sloandog once and it stuck. It went from sloaney, to sloandog, to sloandog millionaire which was an awful shout haha!
Neil Johnson, Alistair Campbell, Murray Goodwin, Andy Flower (w), Grant Flower, Dave Houghton, Guy Whittall, Heath Streak (c), Andy Blignaut, Ray Price, Eddo Brandes
foreignfield was inspired by Ramachandra Guha's brilliant book "A Corner of a Foreign Field" about the history of cricket in India (the famous line in turn taken from a poem by Rupert Brooke).
I live in a pretty remote place as far as cricket is concerned, which made it feel somehow appropriate. It's written in one word because a different forum, where I used it first, did not allow for spaces in usernames (therefore "foreign field" became "foreignfield").
bayhaus is my alter ego across all my social media interactions. The Bauhaus (House of Building or Building School) Movement was a defining period for design between 1919-1933, I took up the name and customised it to Bayhaus after covering that topic in Design History (2001). i am passionate about design and all visual communications. So all my social interactions Flickr, Twitter, Tumblr are all buidling blocks of the Bayhaus Movement
Flower power ....obviously inspired by the two brothers Andy & Grant who powered ZIm during the 90s .....It was out of my admiration of that combination that I chose that alias ........remember them calling in Afrikaans against all other opposition ecxept SA .
Tailender is inspired by Andy Blignaut and the old Chiggs who both used to come at the end of zim innings and make very quick runs to make respectable scores from just a few balls
