Rhinos v Tuskers at Kwekwe
Sep 19 (09:30 local, 07:30 GMT)
Match Preview
Revenge will be the mission for the highly fancied Tuskers after there suprising defeat in the logan cup due to an inspired all round performance from Greame Cremer. Tuskers boost a formidable batting line up including the hard hitting due of Greg Strydom and Charles Coventry along with the more controlled Terry Duffin and Sean Williams. However Cremer's emergence as a genuine allrounder should not be underestimated and along with main national team strike bowler Ed Rainsford will look to contain the powerfull Tuskers line up. With the Rhinos likely to be without star national team batsman Brendan Taylor who is set to arrive in the country on friday they will be looking to skipper Vusi Sibanda and Friday Kasteni to carry on there good form from the 4 day game. A defeat here for the Tuskers will complete a miserable opening week to the season as they were predicted by many to sweep all that came before them.

I'm told they're having communications issues between Kwekwe and Harare. I wonder if they're waiting for Zimpost to deliver the scorecards to HSC.
We've been having trouble calling through to Harare this past week, so I'm prepared to believe it. Issues hopefully to be resolved in time for

Not a good start for Tuskers, but at least I hope they have started getting into their grooves...

Indeed, it's not at all a good beginning by the Tuskers who is considered to be one of the very favourite franchises to win the domestic titles. Although they did lose, I just hope that individual notable performances have come through...
Re: Match Thread Rhinos v Tuskers (Faithwear)
Taylor hit a century
Rhinos 306/7, B Taylor 112 no, S Mire 53, J Nyumbu 3/27.
Tuskers 245/10, M Vermuelen 73, C Coventry 46, T Ngulube 33, T Muzarabani 2/39, S Mire 2/40
good all round performance by Soloman Mire who i hear may not be part of this domestic season for much longer as he had applied to go to a cricket acadamey in Australia for 2 years

Brilliant news on the result front and the performance front, especially by BRM and Solomon Mire, not so good news that Mire is off to Australia but, of course, in the long term he could well come back a vastly improved player and ready for the Test cricket that Zim will be playing by then.
Not so good news, still, with the scorecard situation though, anyone know how much it costs to send a bicycle from England to Zim ? at least the scorer could then cycle to ZC HQ with the cards

Ah, but then he'd have to cycle on Zimbabwean roads. And we all know what they're like..Train Driver wrote:at least the scorer could then cycle to ZC HQ with the cards
