Current England ODI team is a joke, trying to weave a team from representatives from many country origins. Just makes me wonder where is all the home grown talent.

This was their yesterday's side:
Strauss and Prior (SA roots)
Owais Shah (Pak)
Ravi Bopara (Ind)
Mascarenhas (SL)
Eoin Morgan (IRL)
Rashid (Ind / Pak)

I'm sure they are looking forward to flick a few from Zim and WI origin as soon as they become available. Getting Morgan on board is really heartbreaking from Ireland cricket point of view.

to be fair Bopara and Rashid were born in the UK and are British Asians

but you can add Pietersen and Trott to that list (SA)

Yes, but I just wanted to rub it in :D

In fact someone commented recently that there will be two South African teams in near future at the highest level, one of them would play in the name of England ;)

Mascarenhas also born in england but yes england has a pathetic record for being an attractive 2nd option for lots of foreign born players i also blame the weak kolpack system they still have in domestic cricket to blame for abnormal ammounts of african players showing up in there playing rosters

This has now become an easy way to blame England for a few of the folks writing about them of late. They are saying "they look like Zimbabwe and also play like Zimbabwe" in utmost disrespect to the latter team.

All I would like to tell them is "It is not funny, and please check the cricketing history between Engalnd and Zim to know who has been better".

For me, it is only the presence of AF that has created a little soft spot towards the Eng team...

Actually I'm not so impressed with the selection process of England cricket team. They did debut some players from county circuit but after a certain period of time, they used to forget them and seek for new players. I think this is one of the biggest reasons they aren't getting success in regular basis.

Player Ian Bell should be in the ODI lineup. He is given a great deal of experience even in the subcontinental conditions. England should stick with him.

Another successful test player Alistair Cook deserves a go in the ODI's though wasn't succeed in previous chance.

Jonathan Trott is a good player with a test century against Australia under his belt. England has forgot Samit Patel who did very well against South Africa in 2008. He was a find by Kevin Pietersen.

Liam Plunkett is an another player comes to my mind. I remember he played well in 2005/06 against Pakistan, Australia.

England hasn't got their act together with ODI game since the 1992 World Cup. They have had 17 years of futility since.

Guys,

I can see all the above comments. England finally won the T-20 world cup ( ha ha ). No matter what was the team and who were the players. They've showed their efficiency and won the one of the best trophy of the cricket world.

It's not one of the best trophies mate. Far from it. The World Cup, The Ashes, The Wisdon Trophy (And many more), all come before the ICC T20 Trophy. But ya England have certainly pulled their act together, and good on em :D It's been a long time waiting
