OK so what about Jarvis' return...?

Post by Kriterion_BD »

Firdose Moonda said ZC are "confident" KJ will alos be back. I think that is a positive sign. The most important factor is the new managment arent ZANU thieves. Question is how long before the ZC get their tentacles on the likes of Faisal Hasnain...

IMO, if KJ comes back, Zim will be at full strength. Guys like Ballance, the Currans, Cartwright, De Grandholme are basically immigrant kids like Im an immigrant Bangladeshi even if a couple of them played age group under ZC. A lot of Carribean and Subcontinent first class cricketers now play for the US.

Now that BT is a known quantity, lets track KJ's news and updates here.

I suspect he may come back at the end of next year's county season as his contract at Lancs will be completed then. anyone else think something else?

I think ZC should move mountains to have him, then use him as their primary weapon to win the qualifiers and earn a spot in the CWC. Captain Cremer will back him to bowl 5 overs first up, and the opposition will be 30/4 by the 10th over - Taylor having snuffed them up from behind the stumps - with Cremer coming in to ensure they are mopped up by the 30th over. A Craig-Taylor-Sean partnership will then see Zim home in the chase by the 28th over after a disastrous collapse up front by lesser players(as you so often consistently refer to them Kriterion)

That is actually probably true.

Interesting that Jarvis was left out of Lancashire's team today. Some of the comments on Twitter seem to think it's almost certain that he'll return to Zimbabwe.

Saw that as well. Also read an article where Streak says his girlfriend is based in Zim and that just might do the trick for us. Would be a huge coup to get him back. We would finally have the players needed to be constantly competitive in my opinion. Hopefully they are working on Vitori's action too then we are all set.

Now watch ZIM qualify for the CWC with both Jarvis and Taylor back ... or Streak and Taibu resign for wasting money and sowing discontent in the squad for nothing when they fail.

Question is with Cremer and Jarvis in the attack, at least one of them will be present with the new ball and at the death. No?

ZCF:
The presence of Taylor and Jarvis doesn't mean ZIM will qualify for the CWC. It also doesn't mean ZIM will be able to beat AFG. Nor does it mean ZIM will beat West Indies. In fact it doesn't guarantee anything. Just that ZIM probably won't lose to SCO and NED again, and might beat at IRE.

FORUMITE:
So what exactly was the benefit of all this trouble?

ZCF:
ZIM will be more competitive.
STREAK:
ZIM is much stronger now.
FIRDOSE:
It will be a while before the players adjust to international cricket again, but in the end it will be money well spent
NB: 2023 CWC will be hosted in India. The brilliant ZC Pakistani has already organised practice matches in Russia well in advance so spring-chickens Kyle & Brendan can deliver on the investment.

Mate, shut up and accept the reality. Kyle Jarvis and Brendan Taylor are back, and back for the better
