#ZCBOARD MUST GO
Re: #ZCBOARD MUST GO
I think SRC can say this until they’re blue in the face. Everyone knows that ICC are a law unto themselves and heavily influenced by the big nations, India in particular.

Re: #ZCBOARD MUST GO
Saw the tweet by the womans captain saying SRC must stay out of it.
I can understand their frustration, but they also need to understand that the game is bigger than that one moment. Most of the players seem to be living for the next day and not thinking about the longer effects of management on the game. They also seem to be asking the wrong questions.
It should not be, "why did the SRC step in and cut our funding?" it should be, "Why was there no funding saved up by ZC to fund our tours because what happened to the money the ICC has been giving us all these years?"
Same with the guys not being paid. It should not be, "now I can't be paid because we are suspended" but rather it should be, "how can ZC have no money to pay us AGAIN and that this has been going on for years, we allow the same people to run the game?"
The players are the biggest cogs in this wheel who can effect the most change. Sadly I don't see it happening because I see the likes of Taylor and co being on one side brandished as the "white crew" and the like of Hammy and Elton on the other side seemingly as the ones looking out for everyone.
How can any player listen to someone say, "I have better things to do than cricket" and then back them to be in charge of their lives.
If I was still in Zim, I would be starting to get some fan protests at ZC and SRC offices and demanding action to be taken yesterday to fix this.

Re: #ZCBOARD MUST GO
Demanding what action though?
Nobody really knows what is going on, just hoping on a wing and a prayer that the DEB crew has a secret plan.
1. Get rid of the ZC board
2. ???
3. Control cricket
The only other action, besides whatever is happening behind the scenes now, anyone could be hoping for is some sort of mediation between SRC and ZC. Culminating in some sort of new board which is acceptable to both parties. Does anyone really want a half measure like that? As Googly said, cricket is dead and this was always going to happen. May as well go down swinging. Whether Taylor and co leave the game now or in a few years, does it really make a difference. We're losing to Ireland and Netherlands anyway.

Zimbabwe is afflicted with an incurable disease. If they manage to give us one day a week of daytime electricity they will say that they’re working hard and they’ve saved us despite the sanctions and imperialist forces and everybody will cheer wildly and be unbelievably grateful that we can lead one normal day a week.
It’s the purest example of Stockholm Syndrome ever witnessed.
If every single player signs a petition for ZC to step down and some of the decent remaining ZC guys join them it’s basically a major show of no confidence.
Surely not even some of the senior players who have directly benefited from this 15 year nightmare have any faith in them? Now the spin is going to be “well if you don’t stick with us then ICC are definitely going to boot us out, and it’s forever!” That’s already started and let me tell you that it has gained some major traction. They know they are dealing with people that cannot see past tomorrow, it’s the sad truth.
All those board members, from the main board to the provincial level know that they are a major cog in a completely failed and corrupt system yet they will sit there fatly and sullenly hoping that SRC capitulate.
I get why Mukhulani and Makoni are there to the bitter end but some of these other guys only get a token amount and one free holiday to Vic Falls every 4 years.
Let’s compare that ladies team and how much cricket they’ve played in their lives and how much preparation they’ve done recently to the u19 squad who’ve put in way more time and effort, they also have tours and a WC coming up, and there are some really good players amongst that lot. The ladies cricket here is diabolical. I’ve watched a few of their better players practicing and it’s not too tidy. Sure they’ve won some games, but just watch them and tell me what you think. Where’s their club and franchise set up? As shit as the men’s is, theirs is 100 times worse, yet now they have an equal say in this because they’ve played a handful of games? What are they being promised to get behind ZC in all of this? They’re being promised something, as sure as God made little apples. How many senior women players are there? I don’t even know. I know how many juniors there are
It’s the same story with ZC, they knew they had to tick the women’s cricket box and it has been extremely poorly done, it’s all last minute stuff and hastily put together teams and games, with minimal planning and even less execution.
What about the franchise boys that have been in this nightmare for 15 years??
What’s going to change if SRC step back? If anyone thinks ZC will suddenly reform they’re dreaming. There’s no new ZC, they’re the same guys in a different guise, that’s all.

Re: #ZCBOARD MUST GO
Guys imagine yourself in a company where two of your managers fight and the company in turn suspends you and tells you that you won't get any pay nor will be allowed to work until an indefinate period.
Will you looking at the bigger picture and wish for welfare of company and future generations or will you want quick settlement of things so that you can have a future for yourself first?
I don't blame the players at all for their frustration, they are the ones who are most impacted. Whose lives have turned upside down. They have families to look after.
Both parties can keep throwing dirt on each other, but these is no winner here. Everyone is losing.

Re: #ZCBOARD MUST GO
As I said before Hami has a big role to play here. He might decide this thing as the captain. Problem is that by denying these guys their money you are making them desperate. Think about this, unfortunately the quickest way to their salaries is backing Mukuhlani. The SRC fight can drag on for a year. No money.
The suspension was a fatal blow in my opinion. Imagine the ladies team suddenly being offered the support they have always wanted if they just call a press conference to support these guys? This is about politics. We all know what the right thing to do is but the politics is the deciding factor.
After the courts and the ICC the next important factor is public perception. This is where we are going to go over the next few weeks and i'm afraid if we dont see a picture of Mukuhlani in handcuffs by the end of this month the SRC will be done.
Right now for somebody who doesnt know anything about cricket will think this is just typical Zanu PF infighting with the president's son in law fighting Zanu PF MPs for the ICC millions.
Its a bad look if you know nothing about this because all you have seen so far is the president's son in law getting cops to sieze the ZC headquarters and the ICC suapending us because of it. We need to change public perception. So whoever has the evidence needs to step forward now.

Re: #ZCBOARD MUST GO
If they reversed this decision and the ladies went to those qualifiers you’d see at least 40 dignitaries, 10 ministers and their kids attending. Have the ladies realized they will have to take packed Sadza because they won’t be getting a dime that side. If you don’t believe me ask the netball ladies.
Re: #ZCBOARD MUST GO
If 6 KPMG auditors accompanied the ladies the Tour Manager would still manage to scoop most of it and would come back with two flat screen TV’s
Again!
Not the first time.

Re: #ZCBOARD MUST GO
And the auditors would say “nothing wrong here!”
