Match Thread: Afghanistan v Zimbabwe 1st Test (2nd-6th March)
Re: Match Thread: Afghanistan v Zimbabwe 1st Test (2nd-6th March)
From where we were that was a reasonable target. But the Afghans will charge us and if one or two come off we want as big a cushion as possible.

Well batted Willo!!! What a servant of Zim Cricket he's been. 3 test centuries now all in different conditions. Very well batted. Please stick around for another 3 years

34 years old and arguably our 2nd best batter. What a talent. We need him to stick around. Well played Willo.

It’s funny how you can say ‘get a 150 run lead and we are right in the game’ and it actually makes perfect sense. As a first innings lead.sloandog wrote: ↑Wed Mar 03, 2021 7:14 amJut woke up, lazy shot from Ryan Burl really wasn't it. 8 from 22, needed more from him there. I don't think he's necessarily out of his depth, I just think he needs to shake himself a bit and smell the coffee. This is one hell of an opportunity for him to cement his place in the test side.
Regis looked really good there, shame he got out.
Approaching a lead of 90 which is good. Try and get above 150 and we are right in the game I think

119 it is. Again early wickets will be the key. Don't want to be chasing any more than 150 on this wicket batting last.

Ended with a whimper. 5 of the top 8 did nothing. A top innings from Williams and two decent support efforts. A poor batting effort except that we managed a solid lead.
