Had a drink with my Indian friends today, well I did they drank tea  disappointed in the performance again, we are really struggling get through the first 15 overs.

My 11 for Monday:

Kaia
Musakanda
Shumba
Raza
Williams
Chakabva
Burl
Evans
Jongwe
Ngarava
Nyauchi

Just had a look at the batsmen in the squad and it is pretty bleak, Kaitano is just out of form completely, needs a good season in the league before making it back to the National team.

Madhevere has had 13 consecutive innings with rubbish scores in ODI cricket his highest score in that time is 20. He needs a break from the 11, still want him around the squad though.

Marumani still needs work on his mental game, but he is only 20 still.

I have put Musakanda in because why not? Everyone else has failed in that position, we are back to square one with our opener issue. Can see Kasuza or masvaure fighting there way back in the squad just because we need somebody to get us through the first 10 overs.

We really need Ervine back as the number 3, nobody can fill that gap.

Was pretty impressed with the bowling today, but we were never going to defend that rubbish total against India.

We will win game 3…..ever the optimist

I don't think Kasuza or Masvaure are even in the squad and probably haven't played for a couple of weeks.
Our front 3 are just musical chairs. Ervine would shore things up, can't he have a runner?
Kaia looks ok to me, definitely worth persevering with him.
Marumani is getting a bum deal. One shot at opening and then out, and its not the right spot for him, maybe against a lesser bowling sttack, but we need someone with good technique to partner Kaia. He'd be better off down the order if he was to play.
Shumba is probably due a go, but where?
Musakanda and Mayonga must be due, but where?

DH must be scratching his head. The one thing is there probably won't be too much outside interference in this next selection. It's important that we do much better.
Evans is one half decent game away from not having to worry about selectors fucking him over again for a while.

The one great thing was the crowd, they're behind Houghton and this team. You get that kind of support and you have to raise your game. This team now owes us a better performance.

I'm not a big fan of Chivanga. Of course he's got decent pace and the dude is giving it 120%, but he's wildly inaccurate. Those Indian batters must be bemused facing him. The one thing they can bank on is its not on stumps or in the channel. Facing him is the cricketing equivalent of Russian Roulette.

It will be interesting if India let us bowl first if they win the toss.

Houghton was asked this in an interview and said he wants to wait till he is fully fit before he plays again. He could tour to Australia but I doubt he will play.

Just watched Houghton’s interview and somebody asked him about them two  he said he is considering it. Trouble is he can’t take them to Australia as he doesn’t have enough time to get them Visas.

So in other words we are taking the same squad to Australia.

Ervine batting at 3 in these conditions is just asking to nick it behind. He's probably ideally a #5 batter in ODIs which means Williams is probably the ideal candidate for #3.

I too would like to see Burl at 3/4. Just to note though, he played the entire franchise season for Rhinos at 4 and was pretty bad. Averaged 18 in both FC and List A cricket. 8 innings each in both formats.
