Don't mind persevering with Madhevere, he's dynamite in the field and a handy bowling option. He surely will learn more from failing at international level than... what's the alternative right now, the Harare Friendlies League?
This is the harsh reality. If Wes is to be a ZIM stalwart in the years and decades to come, he's got to stay in the XI or at least in every 15. He actually looked fairly good today...solid in defense, only played one shot in the air and got dropped and was batting very sensibly for the most part. He will have those unbelievable brain fades like the Windies game, but IF he does well later on, its imperative that he gains experience now. Sure if he goes 4-5 single digit scores on the trot its going to seem like he needs a break, and yes dropping him from a few games might then do the trick, but sustained success will only come after some real struggled. He's still only 22.
The above also applies to Myers, and may also apply to Marumani + Shumba.
Wes has 12 international fifties. He's not in great form but he's done more already than a great number of Zim batsmen. He contributed today without wasting time. If Ballance was around then leave him out but with the openers working I don't think a swap out for Kaia brings much

How many of those 12 have been in the last year though? 1? 2?
I think Kaia is currently a better player, as it stands today.
Important win under the belt and takes us a step closer. But man, don't have words for the stupidity of this captaincy. Can we really survive this level of nonsense at the world cup proper?
I dunno. That didn't feel as comfortable as it ought to have. Hmm. I think Sri Lanka are favourites for our next game. Any idea why Evans wasn't playing? Rested?
I'd be interested to know Chats' returns in the last 10 games he's played.
Those key wickets against WI were absolute gold and he'd have to have almost been in Last Chance Saloon.
And again almost a carbon copy today.
Most of the wickets have been gold arm wickets as opposed to sustained tight bowling, although he did string together 3 really good overs against WI.

No they either don't think he's quite ready, or quite up for it or there's a third party that is currently keeping him at arm's length. Jongwe was a fortunate pick today and he certainly grabbed his chance. I didn't watch but the scorecard showed a great 40.
For me he knows what he has to do. It's been the same stuff- ideally needs to find another 5-8kph and to be more consistent with the bat. He keeps getting cheaply caught hitting the ball in the air. I think he's got plenty potential, but just not quite getting it right. Also if you're bowling medium you have to be deadly accurate, but there's a few loose deliveries in there. You can see he's wearing some stress from lack of opportunity, but some players for whatever reason get gifted more opportunities. His time will come.
The way Larry is bowling it's going to be tough to put him in the starting eleven for the WC squad.
