Gumbie has gone OK to be fair. Puts a price on his wicket. A rare commodity in ZC cricket
Plus I love his BT shot. He might actually be getting rather good at it

Gumbie playing the traditional anchor role up top. He clearly has good temperament, I wonder if with some good coaching he could expand his arsenal of attacking shots? He must certainly be considered for the longest format of the game. Honestly, how many Zimbabwean openers have averaged 27 or above in our entire history?

You have to consider the strength of the opposition tho for him and guys like Madande. If a guy averages 25 against Ireland and Netherlands, he will probably average 18 against Bangladesh and Afghanistan. And 10 against India/Australia.eugene wrote: ↑Thu Dec 14, 2023 11:51 pmGumbie playing the traditional anchor role up top. Two boundaries to start!

If Kamunhukamwe learns to rotate the strike, he can be a very handy batter.
