Ya a grumpy Secret is like a visit to the Headmaster's office.
No doubting Deon's ability. I like the fact that he's smart.
Domestic cricket dumbs everyone down and makes them ordinary.
It's like that study they did on kids. Pre-school about 20% had propensity for genius. 5 years into school it was down to about 5% and leaving school it was about half a percent.
Same with ZC- they make everyone ordinary. That's why we need an HPC with a shit hot coach, especially for the off season. Even if they shelved Bulagweru Stadium and now had enough money to do something meaningful they'd still pick the wrong coach and the wrong players. We continue backwards at a rate of knots. The WC we co- host is the last period of meaningful cricket we will play. The date is set in stone. Gives the bosses a couple of years to get as rich as possible and they're not wasting time.
ZC announce major restructure: Mhishi Committee
Re: ZC announce major restructure: Mhishi Committee
Suggest you take up your grievances with the state of cricket in the country with the ZC board and stop victimising Forum posters. No rose tinted glasses here and no problems being papered over.secretzimbo wrote: ↑Tue Jun 04, 2024 12:37 pmWhen did I doubt he has talent?
The problem you constantly ignore is that we have / have had dozens of players with lots of talent.
They sadly never go on to achieve much. I wonder why? ….
Stop papering over the problems.

Disagreeing with you isn’t victimising you.
Re: ZC announce major restructure: Mhishi Committee
Oh totally it is in this crazy woke world it’s a hate crime don’t you know
Re: ZC announce major restructure: Mhishi Committee
So they've pretty much given up on the head coach position I guess. No updates, nothing... Shows where ZC is headed. Even teams like Oman, Nepal have proper head coach and their coaching staff. This is just miserable.
Re: ZC announce major restructure: Mhishi Committee
No I'm fairly certain there will be an overseas appointment, just who is the big question. Don't discount Rajput as an interim if they can't find anyone at the moment. He will still be getting his 15k a month and hasn't earned a dime of it.
Imagine his chagrin (great word) if he had to do some work!
I think it's clear they haven't managed to entice anyone on their short list. Why are people shying away from coaching a member nation? The only reason is because they know politics and interference and possibly payment is a problem. I don't think it has much to do with our track record as a cricketing team, which is abominable. It's not a tough gig. You're not expected to win, you only have to start coaching 4 days before an international and if you like golf, fishing and drinking and shagging 2 dollar hookers, you're in the Mecca. Just sit on the balcony and pretend it's stressful and start your presser with- we'll take the positives out of the game.
I don't think we'll be seeing overseas franchise coaches as rumoured either. The lure of the Bulagweru and Batonka millions means anything meaningful has been discarded.

Mukhulani and Bvute have been getting away with murder. They also have the like of Larry and that other journo dude whose name I can't remember, who have kept them there. Whenever any small thing good has happened, they get lauded as some sort of heroes, but the reality is that the things they are doing are just the basics and things that were done decades ago and they destroyed. Good old ZANU way of doing things. Destroy it, then do something minimum to make it seem like you've done something great.
This committee says something about a major restructure, yet that has not happened. Never forget that Mukhulani said he doesn't need ZC, yet he fought tooth and nail to get us suspended and has done everything to keep the game struggling in this country so that they keep running to him.
We need cricket people in charge and I don't mean Hammy, Utseya and Elton. They are just shills and yes men who only care about themselves. There really needs to be a fan revolt of some sorts, but that won't happen.
Meanwhile, teams like Uganda are at a World Cup winning games and making progress. Everyone else is progressing but us. We played a series against Bangladesh and there was barely a squeak about it. I think we won a game and that one win will be what these ZC idiots look at and go, "it's ok, we can still compete so we don't need to do anything".
Then we lose to a Scotland or Uganda and miss out on a World Cup and suddenly TM and OB, and Larry and the media crew point the finger at everyone but themselves. It's a fucking shambles and heads seriously need to roll.

Re: ZC announce major restructure: Mhishi Committee
I have a feeling this will be the case now. I still think it's absurd that cricketing media hasn't been more critical of a full-member nation being without a coach for more than half a year.
Pathetic.
Re: ZC announce major restructure: Mhishi Committee
i've been around here long enough to know that if there was an impending appointment, there would be more leaks than a submarine screendoor.
Failing that, you'd see flops like Zolsky start saying things like (impending coach) was one of my favourite players in the nineties' etc to set the platform to later pat ZC on the back.
This is all assuming it is a high profile coach and not Elton or someone.
