On the back of such a great win it may sound frivolous to again ask about a chap who, although born in the City of Kings, never played for Zimbabwe, even if he earned his only Test cap in Test series which was just as epic and historic as the one just concluded. I'll give you one more picture of him here:

Re: Zimbabwe Cricket Photo Quiz
That's Paul Parker, born January 15, 1956, Bulawayo.
Peterhouse U14C 4th change bowler and no. 10 batsman (but only because Aaron didn't have a bat).

Adding more clues has done the trick. That's correct.Ming wrote:That's Paul Parker, born January 15, 1956, Bulawayo.

Re: Zimbabwe Cricket Photo Quiz
Unfortunately, I don't know anything about Paul Parker's Zimbabwe connection other than his birthplace. He went to school and university in England where he played for and captained Sussex. His only Test appearance (same number of caps as Gary Ballance ) came in the last Test of the Ashes series 1981 (Botham's Ashes) at the Oval. He was never picked again.
Interestingly he now teaches at the same rather famous English school, Tonbridge (the school that produced the Cowdreys), where Andy Whittall has ended up teaching Maths and coaching the first XI.

Re: Zimbabwe Cricket Photo Quiz
just to help Bayhaus (or anyone) - now that I have seen the faces some are so familiar and yet I have nothing (I spent a lot of time, post 2000, on crappy streams, family/friends gossip and cricinfo, so not too surprising I can only get the most obvious ones) - here's a template
from left to right...
top row: 1)?? 2)?? 3)?? 4)??
middle: 1)?? 2)?? 3)?? 4)Chigs 5)?? 6)Taylor 7)??
bottom: 1)?? 2)?? 3)S Ervine 4)Taibu 5)Matsikenyeri 6)H Masakadza 7)??
I'm generally not great at matching names with faces but that's pathetic - just 5!
The only faces I'm drawing complete blanks on are:
top 3) and
middle 2), 3) & 5)!

Re: Zimbabwe Cricket Photo Quiz
Ok, so we go on and on and on about racial diversity in our teams. But rarely do we talk about religious diversity. When was the last time you saw a Zimbabwean team featuring 3 Vapostori, as witnessed by the 3 guys on the left?
Hmmm?
